The GG Writers are going crazy,

   I will admit it, GG is my guilty pleasure. I have absolutely LOVED the show since season1 and have been a CHAIR supporter since episode 107. I am not trying to bash the show, I am just simply expressing some frustration have had with GG recently. First and foremost, the show needs to end with Blair and Chuck married and happily together forever. Chair is basically the only story line that has survived every single season. Second, what was the point of DAIR? DAIR made absolutely no sense and only lasted a couple of episodes. It was a major waste of time. Third, Blair's whole pact with God was very annoying. It didn't really make sense. She and Chuck could have been on the road to happily ever after sooner. Fourth, the entire Charlie/Ivy/Lola thing was truly absurd. It made no sense at all whatsoever, came out of nowhere, and took up like an entire season! Fifth, Lily and Rufus suddenly fighting over everything didn't really make sense either. They were a cute couple/family until one day they decided having them fight over everything would be relevant to the show. Sixth, why did Bart Bass come back? WHY?!? This has to be one of the most confusing things in all of GG. They killed him off in Season 2 which was actually a good idea because it helped develop Chuck as a character and was surprising and unexpected. What I don't understand is what were the writers thinking? What did they go to work one day and decide hey, why don't we make up some crazy story that makes no sense to bring Bart Bass back from the grave! I still don't understand the logic behind that. Seventh, why did they have to make Chuck's mother such an important and confusing plot? His mother is dead, now it's Elizabeth, now it's Diana Payne. WTF!?! It doesn't even make sense. Diana is some 30 year old whore who is okay with banging her son's bestfriend in her son's apartment. The math doesn't even add up because Diana is let;s say 32 and Chuck is let's say 20. Are you trying to tell me Diana gave birth to Chuck when she was 12? I don't think so.

    

   I love the show and always will. But let's admit it. In season 1, everything made sense and show looked great and addictive. It is still good and very addictive, but in retrospect, everything up to now doesn't really fit in. All of these extra characters and extra plots don't make sense or fit into the Grand Scheme of Things, which should be the the UES Royalty, Chuck, Blair, Nate, and Serena (and Brooklyn's own Dan Humphrey) (and occasionally Georgina)  living their lives. All of the plots should revolve around these 5 characters. Not crazy Ivy/Charlie/Lola, or Rufus, or Lily, or Bart, or Diana, or Jenny, or Vanessa, etc.

    

   Honestly, I feel like ever since (or even before) the GG team knew they were being cancelled, they kinda gave up. It was like they wrote these episodes in their sleep. Nothing made sense and loose ends weren't really tied up. Instead, new problems were created.  Although I will always love the show, the writers and most recent episodes are making it too easy to say goodbye.

   hey splush! I totally agree with everything you said. I loved the show in Season 1 and 2...whatever we've been watching for the last three years (especially Season 5) has been a completely different show. You should join us in the Chuck and Blair 2.0 thread :) They're going to end up together, don't worry! But the show has fallen so far, which really sucks.

   Oh yes diana payne looked like an old horse. She has to be atleast 45. She looked so much more older than lily and jack bass, though she is supposed to be their age.

   Yeah I'm really bad at guessing people's ages just by looking at them. I found out that the actress who plays Diana is actually like 50... whoops lol

   I agree about the writers! And the show is basically cancelled. This season is their last. They do deserve a final season. Hopefully they can redeem themselves and leave on a good note...
