The Main Character?

   I know the main character doesn't always have to be in front...

   I'm a noob so, I always thought Serena was the supposed 'star' or whatever, after watching the show. Then I found out that Blair was the actual main character.

   I was really surprised, seeing how Serena is usually in the lead for the pictures and stuff. Interesting..I guess :\

    Yes,and she's first in the opening credits. I always saw Blair as the main character,but Blake is always in the middle...

   I think season 1 had Serena and Dan as the female/male leads, but in season 2, the focus shifted more on to Blair and Chuck, because of their popularity.

   ^ That makes sense, I heard the author said Blair is the main though. And it says the same thing on wiki, well not like thats reliable but still

   And I think Jenny's out of character to be grabbing onto Chuck, if she even is..thats how it seems on the cover, lol.

   Wow, I didn't know Blair was the main character. I always thought the main character could change depending on the episode... whoever's issues are primarily adressed.

   As much as blair is definitely one of the main focuses on the show, i still think the main character is serena. after all, she is the first face we see as every episode begins on the gossip girl website home page.

   I think the show is fairly spilt between them. I think the reason Serena gets more shown is because more of the other characters are related to her. 

   For example, Lily and Rufus. Aaron, Poppy, Georgina. All of them relate to Serena and her life. 

   Blair only has the girls at school (which Serena takes over at one point) and had a bit with the Duke etc. And her mum is only featured occasionally and when she was she was more forced with Jenny and dun dun dun... Serena. 

    

   I do sometimes feel that GG is the "Serena show" because most things relate to her or bring her into the story, but Blair has always been my favourite :) 

    

   I also read the books and Blair is defo the main character in the books. Its funny, I love the books although chuck has a very tiny role and is EXTREMELY gay. Its funny how the relationship between chuck and blair in the series is COMPLETELY different from the books - LOL.

    I think it's supposed to be an ensemble effort focused on Blair and Serena, and their relationship. Hopefully we will get more well-written Blair/Serena moments in season 3. I think that's one area where season 2 was a let down.
