Who's to Blame? Nate or Chace?
-
I also think it's both. What you said about Ed is actually true.I don't think he was even supposedto become a main character, but because of his superb acting they couldn't say no tohim.Obviously Nate's storylines are quite boring but maybe if Chace were a better actor at least it wouldn't be boring to watch!?Still like Nate/Chace though

t was only until he hooked up with Blair did he really become acentral character; but that's off topic now. What I'm trying to say is that in those 6 episodes, though Chuck was not much of acentral character; Ed Westwick managed to grasp and fill in the role of Chuck so well that I simply fell in love with him. In what little amount of script Ed had to act out, he put a lot of effort and work into playing the character of Chuck that it made him stand out even when he was just a supporting actor in the storyline.
You're going back to the topic again when you say it's an "off-topic". What's with all the "Ed is perfect" bull shit? Back to Chace/Nate thread. I believe it's partly Chace's acting, but 90% of it is the GG writers giving him for what I like to spell out S-H-I-T-T-Y storylines.

I don't blame any of them.
I blame the writers. Like what was on my page a long time I think Chace is a great actor, he just doesn't have a good storyline.
Chace/Nate is hot, a great actor, but has stupid storylines.
I think the writers are changing it up this season though, I think he's good so far.

True, but holy shit.. Give them more screentime instead of us twitching through Chris Riggi's failed portrayal as a Lost Boy.. Or FUCKIN' Vanessa! She is NOT a main character. Chace is and he isn't even given a shitload of screentime. That pisses me off the most. I really, really.. really honestly don't give a shit what she says or does as long as it doesn't effect the others. Give Chuck/Blair a "coupley" dialog/storyline. They have half-failed that so far, IN. MY. OPINION. (in capitals).

Chace is only a slightly better actor than Jessica. He is more liked because he has charmisa though. They need to give Nate a better storyline and Chace needs to take acting lessons.
Also he only has on screen chemistry with Blake and Taylor, so if they're not going to put him in scenes with Taylor right now because of their age difference, Serenate needs to happen to make Nate more interesting.

I think it's a little of both. Nate is just bland, they need to spice him up and Chace honestly, has maybe 2 different facial expressions. dont get me wrong though i love Nate and i agree that he definately needs more screentime and more interaction with the main characters. They are isolating him way too much this season and i think he works best wtih the core people. Chace is definately good to look at though but so is Ed and he still captures me with more than his looks, so i would say Chace needs to step it up a little bit too, and the writers need to improve his storylines.
end of rant. :)

chace is great actor but like Penn he going to be type cast alot. ed had good dialog to work on as the chuck is suppose to witty.

chace hasn't had the acting experience the rest of the cast has. i don't think he's as bad as jessica s. but nate is just horribly written.

You're kind of contradicting yourself there...you say he has charisma, but then you say he needs a better storlyine and some acting lessons? Charisma is what MAKES an actor. An actor without charisma is not an actor at all. Using Chuck again as an example, his minor roles in the first few episodes of season 1 stood out so much because he had amazing charisma. People were drawn to Chuck because he was witty and sexual and dirty-minded but also very good with words. Nate does not have very good charisma; he says his lines as if he were reading a book - no emotion or feeling and it does not make me compelled to believe a word he says.Posted 10/18/2009 10:44:40 PM #

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
