This has probably been talked about like a million times, but I just have got to ask.
What is Vanessa still doing on Gossip Girl?! 70% of the fans hate her, why isn't she fired? Does Josh have like a weird fixation with her or something? THE GIRL CANT EFFING ACT! Why? I'm seriously asking.
Thoughts please! =)

Ikr? How can the writers keep shoving her in our faces when a lot of fans have been abundantly clear that we want her gone? I don't like to throw around innuendos, but seriously, what is Jessica doing to stay on the show? I'm not going to judge her, but I'm starting to get a little suspicious.
Vanessa doesn't work. It is obvious. V=boring, lame, judgmental hypocrite...

Because the writers love her, and I don't think they care what the fans think.
Here's an interview with one of the writers, Joshua Safran:
AG: I love Vanessa, but I feel like because she had a crush on Dan for 14 seconds, and during those 14 seconds, Serena perceived her as a threat, there is a small, but vocal contingent that won't allow themselves to see how great she is; they won't let it go.
JS: That is funny to me, especially when you think of everything that Blair and Chuck, or whoever else, has done. I guess there is that group that felt very protective of [Dan and Serena's] relationship.
AG: Plus her one dastardly act, hiding Nate's letter to Jenny, she admitted it and apologized. I can't imagine the show without her. I mean, she is a certain type of quintessential New Yorker.
JS: She so is. She's indie. She's intellectual. She's homeschooled. She's not rich. Her parents never wanted to be rich. Her sister is in a scrappy punk band. The writers love writing for her. We love watching Serena and Blair's world from her vantage point. Interesting things will be happening with Vanessa, we haven't seen her family backstory, and we will be delving into that, specifically her relationship with her mother.
Or maybe they have no clue at all? But I find that very hard to believe.

They changed Vanessa so much from book to T.V. show. Obviously they have done that with different characters but this one didn't work. I love book Vanessa shes probably one of my favorites but i cannot stand a scene that involves any Vanessa! Every other character has some faults but its like shes just so perfect.

I dont get it.. Josh makes the show for the fans (and to earn a shitload of money..) why wouldn't he want to: A) make us more happy with the show and get better ratings, and B) EARN MORE MONEY???

I personally did not fucking care about the letter, or her crush on Dan in season 1. I care about her being an annoying, judgmental, baaad, fugly person who gives everyone shit for doing something (manipulating etc) and then does the exact same thing her self and expects to be all holier than thou.
Josh\the writers need to stop making themselves happy and try to please the fans FOR ONCE.

No, make a "Vanessa to Vermont!" (or something like that) instead. Just think about it, if she would die then all the characters would have to grieve, 'cause that would be realistic considering how most of them for some reason seem to like her. And she'll be remembered as a good person for the rest of the show. She should have an affair with Rufus and when the truth comes out it'll be such a scandal that she has to move back to her parents. And the other characters will probably be relieved that she leaves.

She needs to go... I hope her mother gets into some trouble and she has to move back to Vermont. To never come back.
