in your opinion who do you think is? im torn between bart and eleonor, eleonor is better now but it doesnt take away the fact that she ignored blair for so many years, im curious to see how will be their relationship when she comes back to the show. and about bart i feel awful for chuck because he never felt loved by his parent. i dont think lily is the best one, but she lately is at least trying

In a way all the parents have flaws. Even Anne and especially the Captain. But I'm going to have to go with Keith, Eric and Serena's dad because to make matters worse, he was never in his children's lives and from the way the writers portray him- he's a con artist. So most definetly Keith van der Woodsen.

Worst parents goes officially to Harold imo. He can't even come to his daughter's graduation ceremony nor to her birthday?
I decided this a few days ago when I rewatched the episodes where Miss Carr was involved. He might love Blair but he is no good parent.

Either Anne, who was just a complete crazy bitch, or Alison, who seemed to forget her children completely when she left for the last time (and they seemed to forget her too...)

Keith , Allison and hm i would thinking bart and anne.. and the captain.. its a shame that allison is not there more for her kids.. i think allison has lost her kids now because lily is on her position now and a kind from a new mother figure for jenny and dan.. and i have to say here i like it=)

They visited her the summer before season 2, I think? or sometime, but she didn't come to Jenny's birthday or Dan's graduation sooo I'm going to go with Vanessa killed her. And when she banned Jenny from going to the cottilion because she had an art gallery opening, and then when Jenny tried to go she grounded her? I loved when Dan went off on her, yelling at her for leaving them.

What's so bad about Anne? I think she's a good mother. Better than Lily and Eleanor that is.^^

This is a cool topic. The parents have become so inconsistenly written to my mind...Eleanor I think changes more than any character in the show, Bart was OTT in season 2 compared to season 1, although I DEFINITELY agree that their children's problems have a lot of their basis in these characters.
It's hard for me to tell what is the writing and what is the actual character.
I'm going to go with Harold because that whole scene where he yells at her over the Yale thing, takes her puppy, completely dismisses her...was so hard to watch for me. I think his fairytale aspirations and abandonment also had a lot to do with some of Blair's issues. He's probably not the worst at all...but the way he seems to skate on everything while Eleanor, Bart etc are portrayed as the bad ones. So yeah, Harold's not the worst parent but he has become my least favorite. At least until he comes back with better writing.
