Alex Patsavas is the music supervisor for the show. She also did The OC and she does Grey's Anatomy as well as the soundtracks for the Twilight movies.

Alex will put forward a range of music for an episode based on the script, but it's the episode's director who has the final say on what is used where.

She'll get sent lots of demos and recordings from the record companies and maybe even from the bands themselves. She also has to keep her ear to the ground in the UK and US music circles for anything new and interesting. But it's her job to go out there and find great new music to put on these shows.

i was just asking, cause i ran out of songs to listen to, and almost every musician now doesnt have anything meaningful in their songs.

What music magazines do you read and what radio stations do you listen to?
If you like sophisticated "indie" music, try listening to BBC 6Music online. http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/
You can pick it up online wherever you are in the world. They even have my bb Guy Garvey presenting his own show on Sunday nights.
