Since season 2, I saw a romantic turn of the show instead of a more 'friendship' and 'scheming' kind of show....Do you think it's good or bad...Should a show be focused on a romantic drama or a more of friendship/friennemies drama ....

There was a major change in the show after season 1 IMO. You can see it as early as 2x01, it just wasn't the same. I don't know what happened during that writer's strike but I didn't like it.

Forever-young...I agree wih you so much! I guess we have the same opinion about the romantic turn of the show...Thank god someone agrees with me...I've been wanting a more 'friendship' like storyline...I feel like the only true friendship here is Serena/Blair and Chuck/Nate....I really hope this stays...

I agree about Chuck and Nate, but not so much Serena and Blair anymore. The writers gave up developing their friendship when they reconned why Serena came back. When S and B had that amazing scene in the park right back in early S1, Serena said she left because she felt terrible about sleeping with Nate and didn't know how to be Blair's friend anymore. Then all of a sudden that changed to "I had to leave because I KILLED SOMEONE!" that was the first major sign that the show no longer cared about their friendship and it continued that way from the end of season 1 until now.

Season 2 though Serena kinda got pushed to the side and it became the Chuck and Blair epic love show. All of a sudden CB were the main relationship and not SB. Sad really.

This show lacks character-driven storylines. It's a plotty, hilarious mess.

Chris : true...This show has become a soap opera....It could air at 3 in the afternoon and replace Y&R and nobody would notice...Chuck's dad coming back is like the cherry on the ice cream. The less believable thing we've seen is now nothing compare to this....

Forever-Young : True....Somehow I saw a big change in season 1, like the writers really wanted to reinvent the story...But I personnally think they might have gone too far with that...

I could have sworn this show is supposed to be a soap opera, unless you meant like the cheesy day time ones

soap opera, sometimes called "soap" for short, is an ongoing, episodic work of dramatic fiction presented in serial format on radio or as television programming. The name soap operastems from the original dramatic serials broadcast on radio that had soap manufacturers, such as Procter & GambleColgate-Palmolive and Lever Brothers, as sponsors[1] and producers.[2] These early radio series were broadcast in weekday daytime slots, usually five days a week, when most listeners would be housewives; thus the shows were aimed at and consumed by a predominantly female audience.[1]
