I don't want them to get together romantically...I think the show should keep certain things sacred and Blair going after or hooking up with Serena's bf or ex bf? Come on now...no more of that...let's make this an alliance of another sort. Friendship is what I'd prefer...plus, I've always thought the two interacted like siblings more than anything else.
Re: the play...I think Blair does it out of spite. Initially I thought maybe it was some extra credit, but after seeing the previews I'm wondering if Serena pisses off Blair enough that Blair goes after the role Serena wants in the school play and somehow gets it.

I've been thinking about this. Considering LM & PB's musical talents, they should do a musical. Could you imagine Dan & Blair doing Moulin Rouge (or *gasp* Grease)? HILARIOUS!
Odds are it'll be some Shakespearean tragedy. I hope they don't do Romeo & Juliet...too cliche.

i think it wud be stupid for them 2 b a "couple" bcz theyd both just realize after 2 weeks tht theyre still in love with some1 else. but i think theyd b hilarious as friends! in 2x08, or whenever they talk the sarcasm and everything is hilarious.

I've been wondering which play, too, Em - Romeo and Juliet would be *SO* lame! They could, however, modernize with West Side Story - it's R&J-based, a musical, and set in New York. (I briefly considered Moulin Rouge, as well - love that flick!)
I also like your theory, Daniela - Blair beating Serena out of a coveted role would be quite the interesting role reversal! And if it's to pay S back for doing something to upset B, totally logical to boot!
I am waaaaay more eager to see this play ep than I am for tonight's - so much great potential that I can't wait to see unfold. :D

The play sounds like it'll be hilarious, but - Dan and Blair will only be friends - obviously.
They already did the best friend hooking up with the boyfriend/girlfriend thing with Nate/Serena/Blair/Chuck. But this would be way different - Serena and Dan are IN LOVE with each other, so Blair getting involved would be real bad and immoral. The same as if Serena hooked up with Chuck. The writers just won't go there.
But I would love for them to be friends! Loved that scene in the gallery when Blair told Dan she was in love with Chuck - awesome.
Also - more Chuck/Dan scenes - I think eventually they will be best buds, they just have to get over their differences - maybe Dan will help Chuck with Bass Industries - you know how Dan was so interested in writing about Bart???

i am sure they won't get together romantically, the play will just be there for us to laugh. and maybe also for the two to come together as friends.

i would love to see blair acting lol and being nice with dan because of the play she could came up with amazing quote lines that would make us laugh a lot!!

THAT WILL BE THE EPISODE OF THE SEASON! AND IF THERE IS A KISS INVOLVED MAN! THAT WILL BE EVEN CRAZIER! I CANT WAIT TO SEE THAT EPISODE. I AM HOPING THAT THIS EPISODE WILL BE A FUN EPISODE RATHER THEN A DRAMATIC ONE !

Based on all that has to happen, I don't think they'll get together but I do think this whole thing will end up getting Carr fired and Dan out of Serena's life...at least for the next 4 episodes.
