   Keith van der Woodsen is the father.  Or he was. At least we were alluded to the guy Lily met in the lame 80s episode as being her father. And his name was Keith. but then again that dude was a record producer.

   Papa van der Woodsen is a 'doctor'.

   BUT then again, we're told that the father is coming at some point in this season.

   so why would they show the uncle first?

   it's a clusterfuck of confusion. but like i said, some spoiler sites say it might an attempt to throw us off.
