Here’s a twitter post by the writers:
And by the way, guys? Guest stars exist on every show. There would be no series without them. Why don't you wait till you watch to judge?
Do they realize that they have a track record?

Judging by some of their writing the suffer from sever short-term memory loss.
Besides don't they know we complain about the writing on this show, because we still care what happens to it?

That’s why I was hoping that the CW executives would fire these morons and hire talented people to resurrect the show. They have new writers but they’ve kept the same producers.

This show could be so good though. Some of the dialogue is just dynamite. Recently this Dair arch (the writing in general was good on that one) had some real quality dialogue. But even earlier those asides from Chuck in S1& 2, brilliant.
However they also go for things as the fake cancer plot, the disappearing family members (do Rufus and Lilly even remember having a son together? Hell does Rufus remember he has a daughter?), the hotel/uncle Jack SL (don't get me started on that one)...
This pregnancy malarchy leads me to think that they'll be continuing the trend in S5, sadly!
Mind you the 'it's not abuse when it's these two' comment was just the low point for me. Fine they didn't mean to paint an abuse scene (/abusive relationship). Yet a large part of the public and quite a few recappers interpreted it that way. You would think they would acknowledge that they dropped the ball on that one? No they just throw out the above quote. Baffling.

@Snooker83, when people try to predict what’s going to happen in S5 based on the end of S4, I usually interject that the most important indicator is the pattern that Safran and Savage have established, namely what you’ve described.

THe thing I don't understand is do they really not see how messed up some of their writing is?
Or perhaps they no longer really care, I heard they are developing a new show.
