NEW -- SPOILER W/ BART BASS
-
Stop that Chuck-Bashing! His father's death changed him. Like it those with everyone when your parents pass. He become a hotel owner which is a 9 to 5 job. And he has to keep Blair Waldorf entertained which is a 24/7 job. Give him a break. He'll be back, I'm sure.

thank you. i find it realistic how chuck has changed, he lost his father before turning 18, he never had a mother, boy has been through a lot, sometimes people face situations that make you grow up and mature sooner than others. im sure at some point he wil have a breakdown, he seeing bart's ghost is an indication of it.

and someone was saying at another thread that in the cb pictures blair isnt looking at chuck, like she doesnt see him, maybe it's blair's future without chuck? im really intrigued by this episode.

okay, I'm going to make my point. I don't believe that Chuck should have been capable of that much change. He really didn't change that much after his father's death - he still played games with Blair, and he was still boozing and womanizing. So for him finally saying I love you directly to Blair and being in a relationship (which he had no experience with beforehand), I don't realistically believe that could change him that much. He's known he's been in love with Blair since season 1 - he still managed to retain that bad boy edge that made me love him in the first place.
I like the Chuck that's a bad boy sonofabitch with a soft spot for Blair and Blair only. His newfound sanctimonious attitude grates on me. I don't want to look to Chuck as the moral compass. I didn't expect him to be an Basshole forever - but I didn't expect to see this version of himself so early on while Blair is written to look like a whiny, pathetic, spineless little girl imo to make him look even better. I could have maybe stomached this version of Chuck somewhere further down the road (even then, it would have to be toned down.)

i think the point of bart's coming back is to show chuck that tough he is trying to be different of his father he is just becoming him, so i think until episode 3x12 that's the chuck we are gonna get, obssesed with work and so much alike his father and grown up for his age. i think 3x12 is gonna be a turning point for his caracter

Remember in season 1 when it was said that Bart had nothing and then he bought his first building....build Bass Industries? So the shelter could also be of Bart showing Chuck where his father came from.Posted 11/6/2009 12:32:40 AM #

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
