   Why another Southerner? Isn't that what Gabriel was supposed to be? And the show is set in NYC so realistically there should be more brunettes than blondes.

   I've read all the gossip girl books and there is a character in one of them called Bree.

   All she does in it is have a very brief fling with Mr. Daniel Humphrey!!

   So maybe its the same person because Lord Marcus was also in the books!

   Bree probably is for Dan because like GGirlxoxoA said she had a fling with Dan in the books!

   I am guessing that 'Bree' will be someone that Blair will be acquainted to in NYU, so probably the guy she dates is Dan. I think 'Bree' is meant to represent 'Serena' in Blair's new life, and even Dan's, not in a best friend way, but like, in a 'I'm so effortlessly beautiful and better than you way', sort of to bring back B's insecurities and test her maturity, show us how she has grown up, and if not, how she'll grow up from this. Like, she should know that she should just be happy being herself and not let everyone who seems like a threat make her feel insecure and diabolical. If played out right, I'm sensing a great chance for character development.

   As for Dan, I think it's to show us how her longing for S is still there, and since JS and SS say that there is little possibilty for DS next season, this maybe the way they chose for Dan to outgrow Serena, maybe realizing in himself that he should go for other people and be open to new experiences, not just the Serena type, like maybe he'll be caught up in the same mess with Bree as he was in with S.

   Either way, I'm excited!! :D

    Yeah, hopefully she‘s for Dan. Since all male characters are sort of manwhores, why don‘t the writers make Dan hook up with some other girls. I‘d love to see that.
