ianca in Palm Beach, Fla.: OMFG! Please help! I am now just hearing of this ridiculous complaint that the Parent Television Council is making against next Monday's episode of Gossip Girl, because of the threesome storyline. I hope this is just for publicity, but can you reassure us that the episode will indeed air? Please?! Thank youuu!!!
In case you haven't heard, TV fans, the self-appointed band of media moralizers known as the Parents Television Council has gotten wind of the Gossip Girl threesome set for this coming Monday, and boy, are their granny panties in a bunch! The PTC is sending sternly worded faxes hither and yon in protest, but does this squawky bunch of cultural conservatives actually have any power?
Could they be persuading the CW to step back from the threesome storyline? We've done a little digging and here's the word on the street:
According to insiders, so far there is "no affiliate pullout" for Monday's episode of Gossip Girl, meaning that no local CW stations have opted to preempt the threesome episode (official title: "They Shoot Humphreys, Don't They?"). That might change before Monday, as more TV stations catch wind of the so-called scandal, but chances are that you (and your show) are safe! Good news, don't you think?

great news!!!
even though the thought of dan olivia and the troll having a tryst repulses me, this is still a good news!
GG needs these scandals. ups the viewership.
and they definitely need to step out from the overly PG setting the third season has gotten into.
s1 & 2 GG sacndal needs to be back. =)

the self-appointed band of media moralizers known as the Parents Television Council
Thats exactly what they are and I think it's about time they stepped down from their high horses and take a close look at their own lives and children instead of trying to control others. They have no right to make a desicion for the rest of America or the world who is tuned into GG, especially one which is based on their small minded morals and beliefs.
:end rant:
I'm glad they are still planning on airing it though, even though it might be an epic fail with D/V/O at least the writers tried!

The PTC is ridiculous.
First of all, even if some affiliates did decide not to air the episode, it's going to wind up online anyway.
Secondly, why are they picking on the CW? Is it b/c it's basic cable? HBO and Showtime have much more risque programming.

Exactly and the funny thing is that their little stunt has attracted all this attention to GG and so when it is put on the internet the number of hits that scene alone will get will be a lot more than any other GG episode.

My theory is if it offends you don't watch it change the chanel and let the rest of us who it doesn't offend watch it. Pre empting it isn't going to make it go away. Like was said before it is going to be online anyway. PTC needs to quit whining and go watch Dancing with the Stars and leave Gossip Girl alone.
