ED to star in Wuthering Heights
-
Truely nice scenes bfan and yes this movie was excellent.
-- spoiler warning, regarding the wuthering heights movie --
I did not however like the part in which heathcliff digged up Cathy and lay next to her in the grave. that scene was just a bit to much. Don't recall that being part of the story either ( though, granted i read the book quite some time ago. )

I really hope that they make the movie as good as the book or come close...I've been seeing to much book to movies where the movies are not as good as the books....that would be ashame for such a good actor to be in a poorly written movie version of WH.

OMG that's so funny, I read the book in High School, and found my copy a few days ago. I picked it up and started reading and the FIRST thing to come to mind was Chair! Ed can totally pull this off he's a great actor espesially when it come to darkness. He's perfect for the role and they couldn't have found anyone better! :) Can't WAIT! When does it come out again????

@motherchuckingbass: It is expected to come out somewhere in 2010, although as they just started this project this is just a rough estimate.
Just read another interesting little fact on imdb: Another star that was competing for the role of Cathy is supposed to be lindsay lohan. She however was never really considered for the role:
" Natalie Portman was originally cast as Catherine Earnshaw. After her departure from the film, Lindsay Lohan campaigned for the role but Abbie Cornish was eventually cast. As filming neared, Cornish was then replaced by Gemma Arterton.John Maybury was originally hired to direct.Michael Fassbender was originally cast to portray Heathcliff, but as shooting drew nearer he was replaced by Ed Westwick. " ( taken from : IMDB )
Bah Lindsay !!

Yeah not to be mean but I don't think Lindsay's right for the role...however I think Ed will do amazing in this! I just read the book a few months back, so sad. :(

I am so glad Lindsay Lohan didn't get the role! (Imagine Ed having to act opposite her?!
)Anyway although Gemma's an alright choice, two others they could've cast might've been,
Ellen Page

Yeah I know she's most famous for Juno, and maybe her sexuality is sometimes questioned, but I still thnk she could've been an interesting choice for Cathy or another role opposite Ed. (BTW she probably would've made a much better "Vanessa" on GG...but unfortunately we'll never know...
)Carey Mulligan

Young British actress who's been in other period pieces and I think would also play a great Cathy!
(On a side note omg, Carey and Penn could totes remake the 1962 Janet Margolin/Kier Dullea pic "David & Lisa"! lol!

I think Gemma Arterton was the perfect choice because she's the same age as Ed and is British too. She was in a period piece called "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" and I think her performance there proves that she can do this role. Also, she was a Bond Girl and Ed has been quoted saying that 007 is every British guy's dream role! I think he would have to bulk up a little, but I can see him being the next James Bond in 5 years!

I think they will be gorgeous together! (I chose that pic of him because his outfit looks like it's from a different time period!)

Oh, I didn't know she was the choice! I definately agree, they will be great together.
