Blair's ring!!!

   You know the ruby ring? It's always mentioned in the book and makes quite a few apperances in the show, but does anyone know where it comes from? It's too cute!

   In the novels, Nate gives Blair the ring.  His first gift to her is a heart pendant, which Blair later pins on the inside of a green sweater she gives him.  The second gift he gives her is the ruby ring.

   it wasnt really established in the tv show that the ring is from Nate. who knows maybe the GG writers have a different interpretation for the ring. maybe it is a gift from her Dad thats why she cherishes it.

   Remember in 2.1 Summer Kind of Wonderful, Blair took back the heart pin that she gave Nate so she can use it to pretend to fall for James/Marcus. So if she still feels something for Nate then she wouldnt have taken back that pin or at the very least started a relationship with Chuck then Marcus.

   it doesnt necessarily follow that what happens on the books will be what happens on the tv show. i mean the blair and chuck romance is one proof.

   just my thought.

   Blair's ring in the books is from Nate. But i think that Eric Damon the costume designer saw it as a interesting item to add to Blair. I kind of like that they didn't tell that the ring was from Nate. It's one of the things for those who read the books understand just like the pin.

   I like the tv show having little things from the book, that only people who read the books understand like the ring and the pin.

   I'm not sure were the actual ring comes from but James Avery sells a little ruby rememberence ring that resembles the ring Blair wears. Here it is.

    Yea sorry that was sorta a typo. I went back and watched some episodes with the ring.

    It's still a ruby ring though.
