to much OC over "Dair"
I'm a BLaCK (Blair Jack) fan. The man just oozes confidence and I think he could make Blair into a real woman without necessarily making her give up all the traits that make her interesting such as scheming, being dramatic etc. etc.
I don't like the idea of the writers "pimping out" characters for ratings .... but I guess they gotta do what they gotta do ...
BassIsAlpha...first of all, you are one of my favorite forum posters. Haha. I loved the facepalm post.
But seriously, I started thinking about that after I rewatched season 1 a while ago. Dan didn't want to go to Yale at first. He was all about Dartmouth...remember in "Poison Ivy" how pissed he got when Nate got to escort the Dartmouth representative at that luncheon and Rufus got him to be in charge of refreshments just so he could talk to him? Nothing happens that makes him change his mind about Dartmouth, but all of the sudden in season two during "New Haven Can Wait" he's all about Yale. There's a reason the writers changed that around and I think it has to do with the fact that they want Blair and Dan to be able to have a relationship...if nothing else at least a friendship. It would cause great tension between Blair, Dan, Chuck, and Serena.
As for Jack and Blair...that's ridiculous. I understand where you're coming from, though. He's just a mature version of Chuck. I've read some really intense Jack/Chuck/Blair fanfictions that were really good, but I think that the best way for that triangle to happen would be for Jack to become infatuated with Blair. I mean, he practically already was, but they could have pushed it a lot more. It created great tension, and I think that they're going to push that further in the future. Did you read what Ausiello said about that??
Thanks for that compliment nostalgiakills, and I certainly see what you mean about the whole Dan going to Yale thing, I always thought that maybe that was a move made to possibly have these two become something at Yale, it's also not like they haven't been foreshadowing in the past, remember when Rufus asks if Dan and Blair were together because she was spending time at the gallery? I've always thought that was some form of foreshadowing.
Yea...plus, they just have great chemistry together. We'll see in the play if it looks like they could have a relationship together. Kristin at E! is now saying that Blair will be going to NYU...so who knows? They also said that Nate will be going to Columbia. They're only supposed to be going to 3 colleges, so either Serena isn't going to Brown...or Dan won't be going to Yale. I guess we'll see....
Now you see, that's bullshit, making everything all confusing, maybe it's just that I really wanted Dan and Blair at Yale together, and yeah they're chemistry is great, but nah.....
It should be interesting either way. I mean, for some reason I'm thinking that V is supposed to be going to NYU...Nate signed her up for the SATs, remember? That should at least bring some good drama with her and Blair going to the same school. The spoilers that Nate's going to ask Blair to move in with him are ridiculous...unless Eleanor is moving to Paris full time or something and selling her penthouse. I just don't see why Nate would offer if she didn't need him to, ya know? If she does move in with him...even just as roommates, it would certainly cause a lot of drama.
All of these spoilers are making my head spin...once I feel like I have a grip on the season and ideas about the next...they put out spoilers like those that throw me off. Haha.
True about Vanessa, forgot that she's going to college, and I never hear about Nate asking Blair to move in with him, i would like to see the look on some Chair fans faces that I know, when that happens.
Oh and wtf happened to the last thread, Dare to Dair? good thread gets deleted for no reason.
I saw it on here somewhere...I think it was a Watch With Kristin spoiler? Maybe? I don't know.
Yea...I thought I was a Chair fan, but I've alowly realized that I'm really just a Blair fan, and I liked the person Blair was when she was with Chuck. Ever since he just started hurting her...I just lost interest because she lost her spunk. That's why I'm so happy about the "new" Blair Waldorf that we're going to see. That's also why I'm so open minded about a Dan/Blair hookup. I think it could be good for her.
