Why did they delet this amazing scene?!
gosh, just found the deleted scene, supposed to be happening in "a wonderful lie", which will be featured on the dvd specials of season 2.
I can't believe they deleted that scene!!! especially because it would have shown chuck and nate's friendship in another light. (before the whole NB thing started all over)
Unbelievable. Why on earth cut they such great parts? Oh, of course. I.e. for the pointless "Jenny give a see-through dress to Vanessa."
I always wondered when Chuck and Nate got back to normal again between the "I don't want your money" and the "Do you try to ruin Blair's prom?" time. Yeah, the funeral (not enough imo). But this scene would have been a fine explanation.
omg you are totally right why did they deleted it?
just like the cold feet video.
they cut out the best scenes
but its soo cute..." if your trying to find the perfect date for blair i should look in the mirror'' aaahw
Sometimes it's about the pacing of the episode and sometimes it's about the time constraints. They have to decide which are the strongest scenes and use them to put the episode together.
GGFF, I think we all know the reasons for cutting But, at least I and obvious some other people, don't like the choices they made. But lucky, the deleted scenes are usually on the DVDs.
*I can't wait until August, 18 :-(*
Really? You guys liked that scene? Hmm.
In my opinion, this ep was one of the few where we saw 'old Chuck' who REALLY didn't want Blair with anyone else. I thought the whole point of his manipulating and vetoing her list of dates was so he could focus her attention on him, and diminish the chances of her going with anyone that she actually would fall for or was serious competition. I actually really liked this ep at the time. This scene just brings back lukewarm Chuck to me--passing her off to a Nate clone, ready to just give up the idea of them?
Oh, and actually joking about setting her up with the real Nate if only he was available? What happened to Chuck this season?
LOL! Yeah that is a great scene! Chuck should've went after her then and not f-ed around the next several episodes. (Still I could understand 13-15 in part though, dealing w/Bart's death & all.)
I wish this scene was kept mostly for Nate and the bromance. Problem is Chuck's attitude here was different from the rest of the episode - heck, he was cocky enough to come up with the idea of choosing Blair's date for the ball, wasn't he?
You could look at it Chuck and Nate bonding over girl troubles, as before, perhaps even C subtly checking with N if he's cool with him pursuing Blair like this. Not that Nate's shown interest in her in like forever; not that these games have been anything Nate understood even while he was still Blair's boyfriend. And it would've further cemented how shaky the foundations of Nair 2.0 were.
Another upside is it was Nate actually giving advice and boosting his confidence (read: actually being useful) this time, leading Chuck to pick a clone of himself rather than of his best friend. But, again, kind of flaky considering he initiated this little bet anyway.
Agreed. Nate/Chuck was SO thin on the ground that I was pining for any of it. As you say, DMTS, it doesn't seem consistent with the rest of the episode. I mean...I guess it could also have been that Chuck decided that he wanted the 'friend' role so he could take up his pre V/V position in Blair's life, and also be around to watch out over any new relationships so he could nip them in the bud. That doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the episode/season to me either though. To me, Chuck setting up Blair with Nate or a Nate/clone will always be a bizarro!Chuck. It does bother me that we never got a Nate/Chuck discussion about a)Blair (until the Nair) b)the Dan thing and Yale or c) Bart's death.
While I'd like to think the scene was cut for that or because it didn't fit in with the rest of the episode, I'm sure it was cut because it was a Nate/Chuck scene that they didn't manage to shove Vanessa into. We know that's not allowed. ;)
