A Change Is Gonna Come
-
I do not think that it will change that much in regards to our characters. They will interact with the new interns because the new interns are under them. And well will see George with them because he is an intern again. I think that everyone needs to just wait and see what happens. I am excited and hope it does not change too much, but I am will to wait until the show happens. Cannot wait!Posted 7/13/2007 1:00:00 AM #

McDreamy02, I agree. I think the focus will still be on our newly turned residents, but since George is repeating his intern year, of course they have to introduce new interns. I don't believe they will play a central role in the show, however. Change is going to come...and I as well as all of you wonder how far that change is going to go. Maybe change because they are no longer interns, but residents? Change because Burke is gone? Maybe Meredith will finally find her passion and confidence in a relationship and not continue to "leave" Derek whenever she pleases as he mentioned in the finale. Maybe her Lexie and her will bond and she will help her discover this? Who knows. But what I do know is that I can not wait until that first episode in September!Posted 7/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

I know this was brought up in another forum but here is what we got... I think it was Gloria who brought up that Shonda made it clear that Grey's Anatomy is about the INTERNS at Seatle Grace... The show is called GREYS anatomy after the intern Meredith Grey.. now that she is no longer an intern they had to find a grey to take the title.. therefore it is not Grey's anatomy after Lexie Grey! Blah... also see if anyone can break this puzzle.. HOW CAN MEREDITH AND LEXIE BE ONE YEAR APART... heres the info I gatheed.. post if you have any idea how this could make sense! Thatcher left Ellis when Mer was 5 (maybe just 6) Molly Grey is 23 and when she was in the hospital she mentioned that her older sister was in Medical School… she had to have been in her last year if she is now doing her internship therefore.. that makes Lexie 26 Meredith took a 2 month trip to Europe right after she graduated college… Ellis Grey was asleep for 5 years… when she woke up the last memory she had was Meredith leaving for Europe 5 years ago so in those five years she spent 4 in med school and 1 doing her internship!! Making Meredith now 27 (early 28 if she has an early birthday) and Lexie is 25 or 26 depending on her birthday!! THERE IS NO WAY THAT THEY ARE ONE YEAR APART how could thatcher hide the fact that he had a kid..Posted 7/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

It is not the age that they are one year a part, but school. Meredith was not as focused in school, she partied and then went to Europe for some months before going to medical school. I take it that Lexie went straight through it all. When Shonda was talking about the interns she was talking about our interns not just "interns" in general. This show will stay about Meredith Grey and her group and not about all the new interns every year. It would make no sense to just abandon all the characters that people care about for new ones. But most shows, in the middle, drop and add some new cast members. It makes it more like real life. Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes, and so is Grey's.Posted 7/17/2007 1:00:00 AM #

I think more change is coming and I think its going to be back to the basics...!Posted 7/17/2007 1:00:00 AM #

I like that change!Posted 7/17/2007 1:00:00 AM #

But can't we just have the basics AND MerDer? I mean MerDer is the basic element of the show. It is the reason I believe I am so emotionally attached. Yes I know the other characters play a critical role in my attachment as well, but MerDer is what I hold on to most! =/Posted 7/18/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Mer/Der together would be our happy ending. The scary thing is is that Shonda does not believe in happy endings.Posted 7/18/2007 1:00:00 AM #

It depends on the pont of view what you would call a happy ending - if Meredith could get over her messed up childhood, find true love with somebody else and become a responsable doctor that is something some people would call a happy ending - I don't but in some opinions yeah it could be one. Not everyone is that obsessed with Derek as we are :-) I keep reminding of second to last season of Ally McBeal with Robert Downey Jr. - he was created as Mr. Perfect, too and than he had to go to jail and they ruined all of it - so I think I will never trust a tv show again on that behalf. (Lucky me I never got hurt that way in real life) So I take it philosophical and think: If Shonda doesn't give me my happy ending I still have my phantasy to create it for my own and we still have an excellent actor Patrick Dempsey who will not stopp acting right away and will have many chances to show us some happy ends. So I enjoy the good parts of Grey's, and it doesn't mean hard times are not to be enjoyed because I like it if character's get the chance to grow, to develop, to change. I don't need fast food for my eyes - this is not McGrey's.Posted 7/19/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Hi Pschyrembel, I want shonda to give me my happy ending!!! i just love mer/der - i would like to think that i would still watch the show but realistically i think i would loose interest eventually. Very good news over here - we have season 2 finale this tuesday. we have had a double bill every week and season 3 is starting a double bill every week!!! so by my calculations season 3 will be finished end september / 1st week october so we will be able to watch greys within a few days of the states just like we do with desperate housewives and ugle betty - yipee!!! no more watching on the internet with slow connections and stopping and starting!!! how are you - are you enjoying your summer holidays? we are now into our 42nd consecutive day of rain.Posted 7/19/2007 1:00:00 AM #
