Hey Girls,
I don't think Der punching out Mark has anything to do with Mer. We all know Mark can't keep his mouth shut. The scene shows the fight in the hallway. It looks like Der hit Mark first. So, I'm thinking Mark got in Der's face about what happened in the O.R. with Addie and Der hit him. Der loosing it!! is all about their past. These past few episo. Addie,Archer and Mark have been riding Der and questioning his abilities about any medical procedure he is attempting to do. This also causes Der to doubt himself in the O.R.
Der is at the end of his rope.

All he wants is Mer and a happy life WITHOUT Addie, Archer and Mark. I think these 3 people remind him of his lonely.unhappy childhood. Remember Archer,Mark and Addie came from $$$$. and Der worked his way up while also taking care of his Mother and sisters after his dad died. Remember in season 1 when Mer was trying to find out who his friends were and who does he talk to. He told her he "didnot have any friends"
When you look back at season 1/2 The only people Der would talk to (not counting Mer) was the chief and Bailey.
Even when the boys went on their fishing trip. Der only wanted him and Burke to go. Der has emerged himself into a life of Mer and her friends ONLY!!
What ever happened in his childhood and college he still is bothered by it.
I don't believe he EVER felt like a part of that group. No wonder his mom never liked Addie.

ARGHGHGHGHGGGGGG! ARE YOU KIDDING?! Derek is REALLY pissing me off! Not kidding!!! He started a fight! But I do feel bad for him. HE WAS CALLED A MURDERER! Poor him! I kinda love how Meredith took care of him. There wasn't enough shown of that. I mean really, we have NEVER seen Derek drink to get drunk. I hope they continue that story line in "I Will Follow You Into the Dark".

wow i cant believe the end i love how mer just helped him up and left with him and then just sat there and held his arm as he drank to get drunk
