I was so disappointed with last week's so-called crossover episode which barely crossed-over save for the Der-Addy phone calls that I didnt expect much this week. And what a fantastic CROSS OVER two hours! I also thought initially that GA would go on for two hours until I began watching PP which was so seamless with where GA ended.
I totally agree with Greysaddiction above, on what was great about this episode, but let me add a few more: 1) Derek - happy to see Derek getting more meaningful lines and more air time, in the past few episodes and especially on this one. He is a good actor and worthy of better lines than he was given in the past. loved his eyes tearing when addy told him she wanted him to be god... 2) we need miracles - both of Derek's operations were life affirming and feel-good. (I hope Jen turns out ok though). it was very profound to watch doctors argue their professional positions on delicate cases, how they weigh their respective positions and then finally make the decision on what to do, the considered risks they take 3) Owen/Christina - even if he is uncommunicative, Christina "gets him" and "sees him" 4) showed that ex's can be with each other, reminisce their pasts, but know that they have moved on. even owen seemed to have gotten over his panic attack from the previous episode 5) i am not a doctor but the detail shown in derek's operation on archer was truly amazing. truly amazing.
I was hoping that the episode ended with Der finally proposing to Mer after he told her about all that happened that day and what a day it was. I cant imagine working for more than 24 hours straight and doing these delicate operations back-to-back. But there was too much intense action to insert that ... and that proposal deserves a lot more air time than what was left after all the excitement and tension and ups and downs of the day. But for next episode, i can picture Der getting home, exhausted, and talking to Mer about all that he felt and then proposing ..... Mer i think has emotionally matured that she wouldnt take it against him for not giving her little tid bits during the day about what was going on... or for not telling her of his med school days. why would he anyway when that period was too closely intertwined with Addy.... would you want your husband to do that? well i won't.
congratulations to shonda, the writers, and the actors -- fantastic ep. vintage grey's. cant wait until next week.

Yah, I don't think it was totally outrageous that Der didn't talk to Mer at all through what happened. I would have liked him to, but he was so busy and the stuff he was trying to deal with was SO big and required intense concentration. And his work day just never seemed to end!! I do hope next epi to see more MerDer interaction, though. I also think Mer has matured enough to not freak out about all this.

1) This episode let me down there was NO MerDer at all! If he's gonna propose he needs to step up his game and talk to her. I miss the elevator/on call room/hallway interactions! They are spending less time together rather than more.
2) Christina totally knows this Owen. I feel so bad that he was changed in Iraq.
3) The song... why? Derek is with Meredith get over it old friends! Addison was totally jealous that Derek is moving on and she's not.
4) You're right greysaddiction. Mer has matured enough to be happy that Derek is spending time with old friends instead of freaking out.
I NEED to know why Mark and Derek were fist fighting!!!!

okay so i just watch this... the crossover went has i expected.. half GA half PP...
loved seing so many old friends together :D loved the singing!! xD
LOVED Bailey trying to understand what they were all doing there specially Sam! xD
did you saw the look on Callie's face when she heard Addie was back? her face lighten up! she misses her so much!
Archie's surgery was intense.. =X i can't believe they made us believe there were still eggs in his head! damn!
isn't it funny that no one has get it that mark and lexie are together and Addison's back for a day a figures it out in a secound??
AH! at last! we get something about Derek and Addison's past! at least the ring is explained.. Mcmom hated Addison lol
Sam's "panic" attack was hillarious..
izzie's seriously messed up.. and alex was the only one who noticed it.. kinda hope that he doesnt walk away..
wow we got to see george!! in 3 scenes!!! great progress!!! so sadie's leaving.. her end was kinda wierd.. i didn't like her anyway but still it felt a little rushed..
Owen's ex-fiance.. well what to say.. he was wrong about breaking up with the over an e-mail but i get what he meant when he was talking to cristina in the locker..
how great was it to see meredith and cristina exchanging coments over derek and owen.. awesome to have those two back together! xD
loved sam and bailey scenes... all of them xD
joe's scene was brilliant!!!

The crossover seemed to be a big thing but I have to tell you I'm dissappointed. Showing Addison is not enough, I like her but I don't think the crossover is something good. I see it just like a help to send up the ratings of Private Practice, it has no other sense for me. The promo has looked like Oh my God I can't wait but no MerDer, just stupid talking about Are you happy now? And we're married! Oh, please Derek be a God! Don't have the God komplex! It wasn't good at all :-(

I really enjoyed this episode - felt like the old Grey's YAY!!!
I always like seeing Addison back...next week looks interesting in the operating theatre with her and Derek wanting different things for their patient. I assume the patient is the pregnant lady?? Hoping TR Knight gets some airtime next week too,
Anyone know how long Jessica Capshaw is going to be in the show for? Just wondering cos want to know if anything is happening with poor Callie,

This episode was NOT like the old Grey's. This was just eh. NO MERDER AT ALL! Derek should have introduced Mer to Sam and Naomi instead of the akward intro they got.

It was okay. It was a little weird with that song Derek wrote... I think that Meredith felt left out of his life. It's sad. They need to talk and he needs to tell her about his past and she needs to tell him about hers.
I did like that Meredith defended her life in Seattle to Sadie. They slept their way through Europe...
