Kathy, I am so in agreement with you-- on all of it! I really can't imagine that Shonda would be planning to really break up MerDer. But I just wonder if she didn't write it like the season was going to end after epi 11 and maybe we'll feel as though we're left hanging... Oh, and if Der sleeps with this new chic... well, he just CAN'T!! He will not be so McDreamy w/o Mer... Maybe Shonda just remembers how we all survived them breaking up b/f (when Addison came back) and thinks we'll just slide through... but there's no way b/c this is so different and we are so much more invested and the only reason we got through then was by hanging on to every little savory moment and look b/t Mer and Der... she just can't really be trying to split them, right? Oh, and yes, NO MORE SPOILERS! They are not good for the blood pressure...

hey Kathy and greysaddiction, I feel your pain... and don't get me started about the spoilers... I'm not so happy about the fact that the song that was playing in the end scene with Mer/Der leaving Joe's was titled "Breakin' Up" by Rilo Kiley. I downloaded the song off itunes this morning and if you listen to the lyrics well let's just say ... it doesn't look good. I just finished watching the episode, and I have a few thought. First off, why does Bailey keep crying? I mean, in the first 3 seasons, how many times did she cry? Now, suddenly the Nazi we all know and love is seemingly gone. I liked that she was at least in the storyline because I love her character, but it is extremely out of character for her to cry...again. Sydney, gotta love her. I wish she had a more recurring role. Also, what happened to Olivia and that other guy nurse that was in almost every episode. I miss them. Thacher Grey, yikes. I don't think you could really blame Mer or Lexie for what happened seeing as how Mer had no idea that Thacher was a drunk. Mer was also crushed because it was the first time that she sort of "connected" with him and then she finds out that he does that all the time with Lexie. Why does Shonda want to drive a wedge in between Mer and Der with this Rose character? They seem genuinly happy, like when they were sitting on the bench, they were happy. Why break that up? I like the humor that Mark, Hahn, Chief and Derek bring to the storylines. Mark looks like some girls dad? That was funny stuff. Any predictions on who this catastrophe happens to next week? I'd say...ummmm I really have no idea actually. Maybe Thacher. One more, what is up with Alex and Lexie? I thought that Alex and Ava were getting together. What is going on? Does anyone know how many episodes we have before the whole writers stike comes into play?

Trisha--that whole episode, as far as MerDer goes, was clearly focused not on Meredith and Derek being together, but on him getting interested in the nurse. I could see immediately how far they are going to take it, and it will be what you all hope doesn't happen. If there was a shred of anything to make me think differently I would grab onto it, there just isn't. But if its enough for some of you that someday MerDer will be together, I am happy for you. I will be keeping up with what happens with them and the show, but I will not watch them do this to my couple.

But, Rose, you saw her, right? Could the Der that we all know and love really go for her? Sure she put this edgy foot forward, but that's not what Der's attracted to. He noticed her-- not good. But I don't think that was what the whole episode was about. And at the end of the day, Der was with Mer. I'm telling you it's going to be bumpy. It's not going to be fun. But it's not going to be permanent. Man, you guys are really making me want to break into my Thursday night wine stash!! ;)

Oh, and trisha-- when I saw that song title I got that gut-wrenching feeling too-- but then I remembered that Sydney was actually breaking up with Der, so to speak-- so, that could be the reason for the song pick. Right? And, of course, the song pick also is helping to keep us on the edge of our seats!

Greysaddiction--no, I don't think its going to be permanent. I'm saying that whats going to happen between now and then is going to be painful (for us). I am certain that Derek is going to sleep with Rose. Some of the fans here seem to be tough enough to bear through this, I'm not. Whether it pushes Meredith into being ready to commit, or whether it causes a permanent breakup for them, I don't yet know. All I know is I cannot watch Derek have feelings for anyone else. And yes, he's going to have them for unattractive Rose.

I really truly think that Shonda is doing all of this for us to see Merdith's growth to become the person that Derek wants her to be. Putting them together now, I guess she thinks is too easy. (I mean we have only gone through 3 years of seeing the worst pain any one couple could go through) but obviously this isn't enough for Shonda. So, Meredith will continue to grow and Derek will date until Shonda thinks Mer is where she needs to be. As bad as it hurts me to say this, I really would not be surprised if the permanent decision made by episode 11 is that they split up (because Mer is not ready yet) and then we will see Meredith grow and Derek date and realize he can't live without her. This could be how it works out..... Ok, I'm really trying to be optimistic again...lets just say that Derek will ask this Rose out for dinner. Which he probably will since thats what the spoilers say. He is only doing it because Meredith doesn't seem to be moving any closer in his direction at this point and time, according to the spoilers. And they may go out more than one or two times. I think he will try to convince hiself that he can do this. He can have a relationship without Meredith. I think that Rose will be able to tell he is in love with someone else. I don't think it will take her long to figure that out. Maybe he will begin dreaming about Meredith ( having trouble sleeping) and he will not be able to get her off his mind or out of his thoughts. Even though he may have found someone to date, I don't think it will be easy for Derek at all! Not sure how Meredith will handle all of this. But, I think she will definately grow from it and at first it will be tramatic for her to see and handle but with the help of her friends and Lexie and even the chief...they are going to help her growup and deal with her issues. As close as Mark and Derek have become, I think that Mark will see what is happening with Derek and realize that maybe he shouldn't have tried to push him into dating. He will realize that Der/Mer need to be together and he may end up helping Der and Mer find their way back to each other. One of the spoilers said that Rose would end up with Mark. Anyway, I think Meredith will sink herself into her work and then before you know it, they will find themselves back into each others arms! Now, with all of this said, I want all of this to happen in episode 11 so we don't have to continue to worry (lol) wishful thinking.....but its not going too. Well what do you guys think? Does this sound like a possibility or do I need to seek professional help? (ha) One more thing: As I said before...I hope he doesn't sleep with her! I know I could not handle that! This is really going to be hard to except if he does that! I know I said I was going to remain optimistic, (barely hanging on here) but one sad thought, I guess we can kiss our Christmas episode goodbye that we thought we would get this season with Meredith and Derek together!

Rose: Your right, Der is going to sleep with the Nurse (I can't even say her name) But, I think he is going to find out he is not satisfied or happy. Unfortunately We the fans are going to get kicked in the teeth.The next episo. are 11/22 and 12/03. 11/29 is going to be a rerun of the first episo. of season 4.Shonda/Co still have not completed filming episo. 11. and it may not get done now.(because of the strike)"Crash in to me is a two parter.We may see part 2 on 12/03. That's the end of what they have finished.I bet episo. on 12/03 is about Der sleeping with The nurse and Mer finds out. That means we have to wait until next yr or after the strike ends, which ever comes first.I know I cannot watch Der with another woman.I FEEL GUILTY. Oh, this is not going to play out well.He will probably come back to Mer,but,when and how long will it take is the problem.Because Shonda is writing this, you already know it's going to be a crazy mess.

greysaddiction: I'm with you about the wine stash. I think these last few episo. are going to a be a hellav roller coaster ride. My bottles are in the cooler as we speak I thought I had gotten away from this but, If I'm going to watch I will definitely need a drink of wine (or) at least 3-5 drinks. Also, I can't believe Diz Izzie told George's mother about him failing the boards, splitting up with Callie and her/George's relationship. Cristina is so right. Izzie is PRESIDENT of FANTASY LAND!!! Big Time. How STUPID CAN ONE PERSON BE?
