OMG!!! what an epi!!!!
Eureka!!! We had two George and Izzie scenes in one epi! Yay!!!
That first scene, when Izzie told George just who he is-- she laughed with him and for a minute it was almost a nervous laugh and then she told him that she sees him. She said EXACTLY who he is. That is so old Gizzie friendship! I am over the moon with that scene!!! Izzie really truly is the only one who sees George 100%. And how sad when she said it too. George knows the sadness is there. Man, if Alex only knew to appreciate the space that George has given Alex and Izzie. But then again, he does it for Izzie, not Alex. It's going to be quite a ride to see the two of them be forced to come together for Izzie in future epis. I just love Alex. And you all know how much I love George! I kind of hope Alex will learn about George in the process, you know?
And did you see the expressions on Cristina when Izzie was telling her??? I get why Izzie told her. She needed to tell someone who is a good doctor, and who somewhat cares, but wouldn't be emotionally blindsided by it. But, I think time will tell that Cristina actually cares a little more about Izzie than she lets on. And if anything, she's gonna freak b/c of the impact on Mer and everyone else.
Derek. Well, he certainly make it hard for anyone to feel sorry for him tonight!
I disagree about with many of you about the Chief telling Mer. My first reaction was similar to yours (I almost destroyed my TV) and mostly b/c we knwo the Chief was doing it for selfish reason (boo-hoo on you,Chief-- no step-parent-of-sorts awards for you!), BUT he actually did empower her. He gave her the reassurance of what she is to Der. This will get her through enduring his drunken cr*p. All in all, I think her knowing at that moment was good. Now the ring being out in the middle of nowhere??? NOT GOOD!!
I simply CAN NOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK!!!!

greysaddiction - i agree with you about the chief telling Meredith about the ring and how Derek was going to propose.
If we don't get hot MerDer scenes after they make up after this fight, then i will be PISSED!

Hi guys i'm in australia and havne't seen the episode. What did Derek say to Meredith that was so horrible? Surely he wasn't nasty to her, i can't imagine it!

Wow what an incredibly amazing episode....I have to admit there were a few speechless moments for me but seriously what an incredible episode
Thank God for spoilers....at least we kno MerDer will have a happy ending!!!

Personally, this has got to be one of my favorite episoes of season 5. That Gizzie scene was so cute. TR plays George perfectly. I'm thinking of cute dogs when I see him. I never thought about a reason to why George and Izzie stopped being friends and the reason writers thought of made sense, even though it would've been nicer if it was explained a little more. It took me a while to get why Chief told Mer about the ring. It wsa to give Meredith strenght again to bring Derek back, right?
OK, so I saw Maid of Honor a couple weeks ago and I felt bad for him then. I feel horrible for him now!!!:((( What is the exact name for Izzie's condition. I want to be able to know for reference.

WOW... i loved this episode. so much went on but it was all awesome.
derek was a jerk but i'm glad he was. it'll be good for merder later on.
and yay for more george!! and alex being a decent person/boyfriend!

I didn’t watch the episode yet, but for what you’re saying I think Derek feels so miserable about himself he’s trying to make Meredith go away, cause he think he doesn’t deserve to be happy and he doesn’t deserve her. So pathetic when people do this. Hurt the person he loves the most. Can't wait to watch...

I just watched the episode - and I can't believe that derek would say those things to mer. I couldn't actually watch the scene as I was hiding behind my pillow. He has a lot of making up to do next episode

I did the same thing. I was literally destroying a pillow. I can't say I think Mer will be too angry because she knows he's drunk, but, he said some pretty terrible stuff.
