Ok, thing "quitting" thing- how about this...
Derek is so depressed, and he want's to quit- because he lost a patient...
but Mer convinces him to stay... and when he realizes how big mistake he's doing- he stays... and it's also good moment to propose... and whole pregnancy thing fit in...merder babbies- I can't wait :-)
he has alway been McDreamy, and after this episode he still is- so I don't think he'll quit...
to bad we must wait three weeks to find out!

I can so see Ellen using Meredith's pregnancy to come out publicly with hers. No better way to distract the fans then with Chyler's pregnancy. Viewers will all be looking at her bump during the show and not Ellens.
I just have a feeling there's a McBaby in the near future.
Derek can't quit. Something big will happen to make him stay. Maybe Izzie needing a surgery in order to stay alive..I don't think we've seen the last of Jen's husband, Rob. Their baby will be in the hospital for awhile. Maybe he has something to do with him staying.

Not sure about the McBaby... we can hope but I still don't think Ellen is pregnant.

meredith will get him to stay but even if that doesn't happen the he'll still be in the show.
but i can't wait to see it. What will happen to mark and dereks releationship cos it was just changed for the better. When i went on wikipedia the day to see if it had what was gonna happen on episode 17 i was shocked that derek is quitting being a surgeon. I think everything is gonna happen this season meaning derek will goo back to being a great surgeon, he will propsed and they will get married on the last episode.
I was looking on wikipedia and it says there is 26 episodes on the 5th season which is good.

There are only 24 episodes Ellen Pompeo said that. Wikipedia is usually wrong.

Yeah wikipedia usually is wrong, because anyone can chang the answers. Ellen Pompeo did say on "The Late Show" that there were going to be twenty four episodes. I don't think Derek will quit, I think he is probaly going to take some time off though.

He really does need to take some time. I mean, he WAS called a MURDERER after he was willing to make Jen someone she wasn't to save her. He was attentive to her and an amazing Dr. He got too attached.
Also, the wedding will probably be next season. I have a feeling they'll drag the proposal on till the season finale and then season 6 season finale will be the wedding.
