I'm just so sad that Meredith found about the ring- so it wouldn't be suprise when he finnaly proposes! That look on his face when she told him about the ring---- that proves that he still wanted to propose, and that he was disappointed for ruining the suprise...

I just can't get over the fact that: now Meredith is finnaly ok, "whole and healed", but Derek is screwed up! It seems like they just can't be happy in the same time! And that sucks!

As disappointed as I am that Mer found out about the proposal (and saw the ring), I thought her reaction to the chief was nice. She actually didn't freak out and if anything she looked almost excited about the prospect of a proposal. It made me happy :-) (yeah, I am clinging to happiness straws in this episode seeing as most of it ripped my heart out).

4ever_merder I completly agree with you about how they have never been happy together, apart from the few eps in season 1. Why can't they just be happy together for a change!! As drunk as he was, he was still shocked that she knew. I think that (if he remembers) it was the cheif that told mer, he'll go and be angry towards him. He just needs to go and find the damn ring now.

he probably will find it..i mean they showed where it was after he hit it so that probably means that he will find it

I just watched the MerDer scenes in this episode... again and I noticed something. When ever Der looks at Mer there is regret and sorryness in his eyes. It's like he's saying "I'm ashamed of myself don't love me or look at me", I also noticed when he hit the ring, he smiled like a real Derek smile. His eyes lit up. That's just wrong. Meredith looked heart broken

i didnt notice him smile when he hit the ring, but i can tell he was really upset when meredith told him about the ring. and i think its cute that he had it on him too! when he yells at her he looks like he feels terrible about it. i wouldve cried if i was mer :p but she stayed so strong!

I've just remembered one thing! in season 4 finale, the scene in the beginning when Derek took out the bottle of champagne and furiously throw it in the trash can. That totaly reminded me of the "Derek punching engagement ring" scene! In both ways Derek was screwed up, angry and furious... but it turned out fantastic!

^^me,too...meredith was so strong...i thought she isn't healed and she'll run away like she always did ...but that scene changed my mind about her.

and derek...he was such a jackass! I'm really mad at him...

when he said " you want the ring? here's your ring!" and then he just thew it away damn it i was so shocked and sad! ...and you're right he gotta find the ring now!
