    Here's my theory: Derek contemplates quitting. But then something happens to prevent him from quitting just yet....maybe Izzie suffering from a brain condition and needing Derek to cure her. Then Derek successfully cures Izzie and restores his faith in himself.

    Maybe Derek quits for a couple of episodes, and stays at home waiting for Mer... until they make him come back... would be interesting to see a renowned surgeon doing housework :)

    And by the way, why does Cristina look more drepressed than Meredith? Thought she had got a declaration last thursday, is she panicking?
