So I've started watching Season 2 and Season 3 over again since even if the strike ends tomorrow, new episodes have to be written and the ones that were written prior to the strike even beginning would still need to be taped. That being said, I figure we're due for a Mer/Der reunion like we saw at the end of Season two. I mean c'mon Season 3 was a disaster (figuratively speaking) and I could see Derek being the one this time left to choose between two women. So, although I don't know when that will be, whether it's this season/next season, and because Shonda loves symetry, could you not see a season finale where the final scene is Derek standing there forced to choose between Meredith (whose now decided she's ready to commit) and Rose? I mean think about it. Derek chose wrong when he chose Addi, and this time he would choose right because he wouldn't make that same mistake twice. I know he technically chose Meredith in Episode 1 of Season 3, but I don't count that because Meredith wasn't ready to choose him, even though she thought she was, and we saw that unfold in the rest of Season 3. Hi Trish, Would Derek want to take time to think about things (alla fishing alone this time)? Would Meredith, perhaps , follow him and find him at deaths door(? do they have grizzly bears in Seattle country side?? or under a mini avalanche and Meredith could be his knight in whatever and save him. Perhaps he could feel he has to leave Seattle Grace and offers his resignation (end of episode here)which the chief refuses to accept (next episode)but suggests he take a leave of absence instead. He heads off on another fishing trip, with his trailer attached to his car this time , just minutes before Meredith arrives to accept his marriage/house/kids package and she finds out he has gone and hasn't told her. But Rose knows he is leaving and where he is going, because he loves Meredith and can't work in the same hospital with her any longer. The area he is heading for is now on bush fire alert but his radio isn't working and Meredith has to save the day by finding him and risking her own life to do so. I was remembering some comments from Eric Dane, (Sloan) I think with TV Guide not too long ago….there may be trouble again with Sloan and Derek. And we know now what that most likely will be …… MEREDITH! So I thought that once Sloan finds out about Mer/Der breaking up that he will start trying to make his moves on Meredith. You know that will NOT sit well with Derek. I don’t think she would sleep with him but just the fact that she had a drink with him would drive Derek crazy! And I would not be surprised if Sloan hasn't already slept with Rose. And also, Happy Birthday Today to our precious...Patrick Dempsey!Posted 1/13/2008 1:00:00 AM #

That last epi was like a season ending epi...seriously....at this point anything can happen. I mean I have always thought "soo what does Baily's husband do?" I thought it was weird he didn't have any problems just hanging out at home all the time....and the MERDEROSE 3 some is already old. Even if Der was to be with Mer it would almost be like the Addy thing...then we are back to elevator moments and crying in closets and secretive sex...ok so i guess I wouldn't mind all that but that was season 2...seriously something has got to give and now that the strike is going on..there is no end in site. I can't even get back into watching season 1 or 2. I feel like I had a bad break up without any closure...Grey's Anatomy once was an addiction...now its a sicknessPosted 1/14/2008 1:00:00 AM #

Call me Crazy, but I am definately hanging in there for Mer/Der. I truly believe it is going to happen. With the strike it has just delayed things for all the characters but especially Mer/Der. But I am holding onto so many of the things Shonda has said in her podcast where Mer/Der are concerned. She did tell us to be ware that someone was going to come along for Derek and Rose did. Even though we knew it was going to happen, it still was very hard to watch and I think she just wants us to see that Derek isn't perfect, he is McDreamy but not perfect. And we found that out in the last few episodes. Now we need to see Derek deal with his issues while Meredith is working on hers. Shonda said that they would get Meredith ready eventually and I think she is almost there. Now we have to wait and see how Shonda makes this all come together and I'm hoping it will be sooner than later! At the beginning of the episode when Mark and Derek were walking down the path to see where he wants to build his house, Derek said something to Mark about getting to the destination without enjoying the journey. I think that has something to do with Mer/Der. Its fun to think about quotes the characters say in these episodes and what they mean because Shonda always has a way of bringing them back around and back to life somewhere along the way. Anyway, lets continue to keep our fingers crossed that the strike will be over soon!Posted 1/14/2008 1:00:00 AM #

Kathy, you really do have that much faith in shonda? yeah i guess eventually merder will end up together but i just dont see it happening soon. What's with the Rose character staying longer than 7 epi's if der/rose chemistry is humming? and abc wanting to making her a regular? also dempsey happy with where his character is heading and Lauren trying her best to justify why derek needs to date someone like her? i am a loyal grey fan and i will cont. to watch till the end, but i just dont get excited anymore.
