I am new to watching the show. Can someone please explain in the last episode why Meredith identified George by him writing 007?

Sure and welcome to the wonderful world of Grey's Anatomy!!

You MUST MUST MUST (in my opinion) go back and watch Episode 1 of Season 1 to find this out. George got to scrub in on him 1st surgery, an appendectomy, in which he does something wrong and almost kills the patient. So the other interns nicknamed him "007" which in James Bond movies means "licensed to kill". Of course he hated this and it comes up every so often throughout the 5 seasons.

Once you have watched that first episode, I predict you will be HOOKED and ADDICTED to Grey's and will then want to continue to watch all 5 seasons. You will understand more and get so much more out of it if you watch them IN ORDER.
