Rise Up

It was not that bad of an episode even with Hahn being fired by ABC execs and leaving the show. I will miss her character but all in all I really did like the episode and I am looking forward to next week. I really would love Hunt and Cristina to get together eventually cause you can tell their is some sexual tension there. I am wondering how long is Izzie suppose to be keeping seeing Denny. I did love Denny popping up now and then tonight. With Meredith and Derek I feel like it's just stuck, I would like a storyline developing where we see their relationship developing a little bit more every episode. I do agree with you McDreamy 02 about George and Hunt becoming friends, I never really though about that possiblity but it's a good story line.

Oh I don't know if I would say that MerDer are "stuck"! I think the dealing with Mer's mother diaries, Der getting settled into Mer's house, shows that they are building permanancy. You can't go from moving in together straight into big issues...they need to coast for a while before we have them dealing with pregnancy issues, getting time off at the same time for a vacation issue.....that sort of thing! Really I am enjoying watching them just coast for a while in domesticated bliss!
Now on the other hand...I love where Alex and Izzy are headed! I think there might be something "real" developing between Callie and Mark, Oh and the I have a huge crush on George thing that Lexie is dealing with is adorable. The whole Hahn/Torres thing....well that pretty much turned me off big time! Now I am not saying that being gay is bad or wrong...just not what I want to see!
At anyrate I love this show and I love where the writers are taking it!

I do see your point about how they have to build the relationship and making it into a long lasting relationship between Mer and Der. I used the word stuck only because it feels like such a long time coming of this relationship after all the ups and downs so now they are finally together and as a fan you want all these great things to happen a.s.a.p. I am sure/hope Shonda has great plans for the relationship further on in the future.

In the interviews with Shonda she said this is the happily every after for MerDer. Im getting tired of the "coasting." Did you ever noticed that MerDer is like Murder? Does anyone know how many seasons of Grey's there will be?

I am baffled. There is the good. Cristina and Mark -- Hilarious!! Hunt nailed it-- they are acting the squabbling little toddlers over medical procedures on human beings-- they need to have more respect! I look forward to Hunt teaching them that. :) I am baffled, though... Are we to assume that the setting the stage for Izzie to leave is that she is going to have some sort of mental health issue where she is seeing dead Denny all the time??? Don't get me wrong-- I LOVE to see Denny, especially Denny with Izzie, but he is dead and we were told that what was coming down the pike for Izzie would set the stage for her to possibly leave at the end of the season. I will not believe mental illness in Izzie, so I hope that's not the way they are going with this. What are they doing to George? Noble, lovable, caring George. He is floundering over this bionic medical cadavar like Chief little puppet doll. No interaction with anyone he loves or cares about. I assume Shonda and writers are setting up for some storyline (my glass-half-full interpretation), but I have to say they'd better get to it REAL soon! I am running out of patience. Reminder-- George & Izzie are BEST FRIENDS!!!!!!! We could really use steamy MerDer scene pick-me-ups. Reality is, yes, they'll have challenges to overcome and things to work through, but they will also be together and kiss and stuff sometimes, too!!! We could use a dose of MerDer about now!
Does anyone else see these points that I've made? Or maybe you see them in an entirely different way?
Either way, I'm trying to post this to discuss.
Please post for me.
I look forward to next week's epi.

Ok, so here's what I think is going on greyaddiction, because I do see them in a different way I think.
I think you've got a case of not being able to see the forest through the trees.
The Yang, Sloan, Hunt nexus this week was hilarious. George wrasslin the robot: hilarious. Yang talking about her dad with Hunt: riveting. The old man begging for his wife to answer him "Rosie, Rosie, Rosie": absolutely heartbreaking. The cadaver club: gruesome, gothic, naughty.Yang smacking down Sloan, Callie getting Izzie's back...so many great moments last night.
So, not so much MerDer because after playing that note a lot there needs to be some "absence makes the heart grow fond" time for their story line, but it's building back towards them in subtle ways.
Izzie? Great stuff last night. I think of that speech of the chief's in the premiere where he's talking about getting SGH back to being a great teaching and trauma center. That's the theme of the season, so the personal has to take a back seat. I think you might be too focused on the nitty gritty? Take a step back and feel the love?

Meredith: She wants everyone around her to be ordinary so she can be extraordinary.
