    As much as I hate the thought of Derek and Meredith being apart again, given what Shonda has told us in her blog, I have a funny feeling that that is what will happen. I woke up this morning thinking I can't get the term "burned it all down" out of my head. So I think we are at a new beginning....our characters have been stripped to the bone and we have to build them back up so they can get what it is they wanted. I get frustrated with Shonda because she honestly doesn't believe we can have it all (especially women), but I believe we can. The thing is you can't have it all without some compromises, without lots of effort....you can have it all but it takes a lot of work and effort as well as knowing yourself. As much as I hate to say this Meredith has a lot of work to do for herself. It's not healthy for her to think that in order for her to believe that she and Derek can make it, that Christina had to walk down that isle. Now that Christina isn't married to Burke, Meredith gives up....that's not healthy. So I'm thinking Meredith will say no at first to Derek...I hope their separation doesn't last all through Season 4 (I need some reward for putting up with Shonda's "plans"). Whether or not that means Derek will be with another woman (please not Lexie) I have no idea. I think he could just be single for a while. Most of us do go through periods where we are just by ourselves....we don't always have to be with someone. I honestly have no idea what will happen with Burke and Christina. George will return and repeat his internship. The Izzie, Caillie, George triangle will playout and Bailey will have to adjust not being Chief resident. As Shonda said, it's like we're starting all over again in a way and there are sooooooo many possibilities.

    I so hope the fun of Season 1 is back for Season 4.It is so good. If meredith is the love of Derek's life, they have to be together don't they? So frustrated....................

    Season 1, Episode 3, Meredith says: "And once in a while the life we save could be our own" Do you think this has any bearing on where Meredith is right now?

    I think that it was interesting that she said "burning down the house" and then talks about dreams and fairy tales. All of these people have had these things taken from them. Now they can focus on making their own lives the focus, what is and what is real, not the fake and "should be". I think that Meredith and Derek will end up together because the truly love each other. They just have to learn to love in reality and not in fairy tale. Meredith needs to connect with her father and repair that relationship. She needs to understand him, because it has been pointed out, they are a lot alike. She can learn to understand her wounds and search for help in mending them. She needs to learn to let people in, even though they might hurt her. It might take some time, but the journey is the same for all out character; becoming more healthy and whole people.

    I think I agree Mcdreamy02......I just hope it happens in season 4 and not Season 7 otherwise I'm gong to have on e hell of an ulcer. I just hate to see derek in pain and Meredith throw away something so right

    I too agree with McDreamy02,but, I'm still SOoo angry with thacher hitting Mer,for me that was the slap heard around the world. I'm hoping the chief will be their for mer.I really am hoping George will talk with the chief and let him know what Mer has been going through. After all the chief knows what her life has been since birth. He has more knowledge than anyone re: Mer's parents and their relationship.The chief knows Der loves Mer and the chief would do anything to make sure Mer is safe and happy. But, I just cannot wait until Season 4 esp.18 to find out. Or season 5 esp 5. I'm with you Trisha about the ulcer. I'm usually a (2) limit drink person and only on social occasions. The stressful situations on GA has pushed me way pass 2 drinks.OMG don't let any of my friends come over crying about Mer/Der. (That turns out to be an all nighter)You guys have me up beat about season 4. So I'm doing pretty good right now. You all have a good day today.
