Season 6 premiere

Oh I'll miss our Georgie. :(
I totally agree with you about the relationships and friendships, I forgot about Mark and Callie. I love them as friends.
Oh no, I LOVE talking about Grey's. Anything really, to bad there aren't many people that watch it where I live, most people are watching some other lame stuff. That's what this place is for! :)
It's really hard to hate anyone on Grey's. I love them all. But here are my 5 least:
1)SYDNEY!- Ah! I cannot stand Sydney, wayyyy to happy. But you gotta love her. She always makes me laugh in the episode "Forever Young". I know someone that's almost exactly like her and they drive me nuts!
2)The new interns- I didn't like the idea of the "new" interns, they irritate me. No interns can ever replace the originals. But I guess the show needs to grow.
3)Lexie- At first I didn't like Lexie, but I've grown to like her alot. Just not with Mark. I'm glad she has grown and is able to stand up for herself unlike in season 4.
4)Rose- You know she was a mistake. However I think she helped with clinical trial storyline and at the end of season 4 when he says: "I need my conscious clear, I need to speak to Rose." We get to see Derek's morals and beliefs.
I LOVE the season 4 finale.
5)Thatcher- Thatcher had always been that character that stuck with me. I didn't like him, I think because he reminds me of someone in my life similar to him.
It's hard to hate Grey's characters and it was hard to make this list.
How about yours?
P.S.- I agree, Shonda is the one that made us fall in love with Izzie and George and all the rest, she made us hate Izzie and George and everyone else, she made us fall in love with this amazing show, and for that I'm grateful.

I also LOVE to talk about Grey's, biggest part of my friends either don't watch or they watch from time to time, not like I do. I'm practically obsessed with the show...
Ok, like you said it's hard to hate anyone on Grey's, but again there are some really annoying characters.
1. Rose-I hated her, she practically ruined season 4 for me (though I didn't hate season 4, like most of the fans. But, honestly it was the worst season when we take a closer look), and more importantly she ruined MerDer for me. She was a stalker, she didn't have ANYTHING in common with Derek (except black hair, and her is not nearly as good as his) and her joke "I'm pregnant", I hated that one, she wasn't funny at all. But, in the end, everything turned out well for my couple, so now I can hate the memory of Rose in peace. :)))
2. Dr Sevoy (if that's how it spells)-he is the doctor who questioned Bailey's judgement in the M&M meeting. When he talked how she's gone soft, how she is tired and how her hormons are working, I think I would slapp him really hard in that pathetic face if I could. But, in the end, Bailey won in her own way, like she always does... Oh, and I loved how Alex defended Bailey in the M&M, and how he told her he knew what Izzie was planning to do, and didn't stop her, so she wasn't the only one.
3. Sydney-she is soo annoying, she is too cheerful, too happy on the outside, but we saw that she's not like that deep inside. However, her voice is just soo... You get a headache from hearing it. Remember when she came to the clinic and was all "Hey, hello, hi", and later (I'm never going to forget this) when she called "Jason Key", God, that voice...
4. Thatcher-At first I didn't dislike him, but when he slapped Meredith after Susan died (and actually it wasn't her fault), I'm never going to forgive him for that. And when he came back this season, finally sober, with that apology written on a piece of paper. It was really shallow that Lexie has forgiven him, but again, he didn't do so many bad things to her as he did to Meredith.
5. Sadie-I really didn't like her, and I'm glad she is gone. She put all of them into trouble with that appendix surgery they performed on her, and plus she cheated her way into the program. I mean, this is medicine, if you make a mistake, someone dies. Obviosly, she has no moral, like George said, she was a danger to the patients. And she tried to make Mer go with her, "sleep her way through Europe". Hahaha, optimist. Oh, yeah, and she was dumb enough to switch patient's lab results with Izzie's.
There they are. I don't have any more ideas what we can write, but if you have, go on, I'll be glad to type. :)
P.S. I forgot one friendship, there weren't enough places :) It's Bailey and Derek. When he cried in the elevator back in season 2, and she pushed the stop button, so nice from her. And in season 4, in the epi were Marcus (she was his tutor) came, in the end she gave him the "little Bailey speech" about homecoming and her look back in highschool, and he said to her "I would be honored to take a girl like you to the homecoming dance", so nice from him. Too bad we haven't seen a lot of that this season.

Yeah, I love Grey's talk. I can go on and on and on...
Hm, good choices. I totally agree about Dr. Sevoy (I don't know the spelling either) he was a jerk to Bailey, and Bailey is totally hardcore. Oh yeah, the Bailey and Derek friendship is great. It's like Bailey vents and Derek talks with his looks and actions and with few but great words. I love that about them.
Let's see... Oh! I got one, what are two of episodes from each season that you think have the best and powerful music?
P.S.- I'm leaving out of town to Las Vegas (yayyy!) for a week. So I'll respond when I get back. I hope I don't miss out on any Grey's news! Talk with you later!

Arghh, I'm having some trouble posting. I'll try later...

Hello guys!!! So, i am new to the forum and a huge, huge, huge fan of Grey's. I just finished watching all the episodes from season 1 till the end for the second time. damn, they keep getting better and better... Who can wait till September?
I like your thoughts about season 6, but I have a question about Izzie, who i love btw.
In Izzie's first surgery Derek got the whole tumor out. In the second surgery Bailey cleared her organs from the cancer? So is that part done too? And then a small tumor appeared in her brain which led to a third surgery. Is Izzie now cancer and tumor free? Or she is going to have to deal with it in season 6 as well?
Posted 7/29/2009 5:25:10 PM # -
Well, I think she is tumor free. But now she is in cancer remission. One of the spoilers said that they were casting for an oncologist, perhaps for Izzie?
Oh and I love Izzie too! (I think she is totally hardcore.) And I agree about Grey's getting better and better. Most people haven't stuck around as long as us, true Grey's fans, have. Hopefully it does get better and better.
What do you think about Season 6? I'm SO sad about our George. I'll miss him terribly.
Posted 7/29/2009 5:54:04 PM # -
Hmm... does that mean that there is a possibility that the cancer is going to come back?? Noo... I don't even want to think about it. Yes I heard about the oncologist and I am thinking that it's for izzie as well. So I was wondering, since she had (had is the right word right? not has anymore) cancer, can it come back?
I am soo sad too about George.. :( But i understand T.R. George almost disappeared this season. It was like they were preparing his departure so that he won't be greatly missed after he leaves. I loved George from the beginning, but since season 4 and the gizzie storyline, the character wasn't one of my favourites anymore. Dare to say he became a little indifferent.
Btw, I am so glad that we got some spoilery pictures from the set of Grey's these days.

I guess we'll find out, in the premiere, but from the pictures; my guess is that Izzie is in a coma for awhile and when it comes around to the time of George's funeral she wakes up. I hope she's okay, Izzie has been one of my favorite characters (I love them all though.)
I know right? I think Shonda just struggled to put together the pieces of her own mess. I think she had good hope for George, however, it all just came tumbling down when his departure came into play. But I have always loved George air time, he was the one character I could relate too. But if T.R. is happy, I guess it's not to bad. However if he was forced and unhappy about leaving then it would be a problem. Kudos to T.R.
Me, I'm not so glad. I've always been used to Grey's being under wraps and being sneaky and creative with it's premieres and finales. Buuut I guess most of us saw this coming, so it's not that big of a surprise. Although I'm really curious about how Izzie handles this situation and how she even manages to get to the funeral. I can't wait til September!!!

DrStevens, first, welcome to the forum and to this thread. And the answer to your question, I agree with 14Grey's, Izzie is tumor free, I guess, but the cancer is still there, waiting for her to kick it's ass. Katherine Heigl said when she was on David Latterman (I think it was there), about her hair, that the producers forbid her to die it, but now it doesn't matter cause Izzie is bold for an amount of epis. But, I think that means that she will beat the cancer by the half of season 6.
14Grey's, great that you are going to Vegas. I wish you a nice trip and to have some really good time. I'll miss talking to you. And, now I'm gonna write those songs. I wrote them yesterday, but I couldn't post it, it said guest posting isn't available, but I know I have logged in. Hmm... So, my big post just dissapeared. I was so pissed off.
Ok, here they are.
From season 1, I don't have any favorite songs, I simply didn't pay to much attention to it, we met the characters, and it was all about getting to know them, so I really wasn't listening so much to the music they were palying. I focused on storylines and those people I then didn't know. :)
Ok, season 2... There are couple of epis with some pretty good songs. First (I don't know which epi this is exactly), when Alex cheated on Izzie with Olivia, well while the 2 of them were in the on call room, they were playing one of my favorites, "You and Me", from Lifehouse. Then, in episode "Superstition", a song that I think everybody likes, "How To Save a Life" from Fray. And of course season finale had great songs, the ones I liked the most are "Chasing Cars" (Snow Patrol), "Under the Waves" (Pete Droge) and of course "Grace" (Kate Havnevik).
Now, season 3. The songs I like most come from 2 epis, "Drowning on Dry Land" and "Some Kind of Miracle". I watched those 2 epis so many times that I of course paid attention to the music, and I liked, I think, every single song that was played during them. The songs are: "A Bitter Song" (Butterfly Boutcher), "Timeless" (Kate Havnevik), "The Lake" (Aqualung), "Swans" (Uncle Bob) and "Sleep, Don't Weep" (Damien Rice).
Season 4... Ok, this is not actually something they played, but... Remember that episode when Cristina found out that Burke won the Harper Avory, and he didn't even mention her in his interview? Well, Cristina went to the morgue to harvest some organs, and while she was doing that, she was singing "Like a Virgin" (Madonna), I love that song. And, then we have the season finale with 2 songs, "Dream" (Priscilla Ahn) and "The Quest" (Bryn Christofer). By the way, I love how they synchronised that song ("The Quest") with all those kisses, it was perfect.
And, finally, season 5. It was so exciting, great, we had some great storylines, some great scenes, so the 2 songs I like from season 5 are both from the finale, because that's the epi I watched the most. So, those songs are "Where the Road Meets the Sun" (Katie Herzig and Matthew Perryman Jones) and "Off I Go" (Greg Laswell).
Ok, those are my favorite songs. Which are yours? (Answer when you come back if you already left ;). Oh, and DrStevens, feel free to join our "discussion" and writing of all this Grey's stuff.
P.S. 14Grey's, this is a great sentence: "Shonda just struggled to put togehter the pieces of her own mess". I couldn't agree more with you.
Ok, I'm finally done with writing this post. I'll talk to you soon...

I'm baaaack! And yes, Dr. Stevens, feel free to join in on the conversation. We are just killing time waiting for the premiere, so jump in! Thanks Mer Der, I had SO much fun, I wish I was still there. The first thing I did was watch Grey's when I got back, and I missed talking to my Grey's buddy too!
Okay, so I have some Grey's news. I found the names of episodes for the first several episodes. If you would like I can give them to you. Or I could just type them down right now.
1) I Give You Everything Pt. 1 & 2
2)The World Stands Still
3)Words Pass
4)I Will Forget the Future
5)Let Us Be Together
6) I Want Love
I hope this isn't to much of a spoiler for you other Grey's fans. (It's only us talking in here so I don't know.)
Okay here's mine:
The very first episode had some kick ass music, I love that one. I pretty much agree, I didn't pay attention to the music as much as I did later on.
In Season 2, the music was wonderfully chosen. Episode 6 had some pretty powerful music. (I love "Into You Like A Train", it's such an amazing episode.) Also, "Thanks for the Memories", "Break On Though" and the season finale. "Chasing Cars" was perfect for the ending. "How to Save A Life" was also great for "Superstition". Oh and "As We Know It" had some great music with Kate Havnevik (always good on Grey's) and Anna Nalick.
Season 3 also had phenomenal in music selection. "Let the Angels Commit" had one of my favorite songs by Vega4 "Life is Beautiful", it fit perfectly. "From a Whisper to a Scream" had few songs but they sure were powerful. Oh and Mindy Smith's "Fall for Nothing" in the episode "What I Am" made me cry with Denny's phone message. I loved that.
In Season 4, I loved "A Change Is Gonna Come" with the song "To Build A Home" at the end where Mer and Der had breal up sex and George tells Izzie he loves her. Very nice. I really liked "Keep Me Warm" by Ida Maria in the season finale, it's now one of my favorite songs. This season was short (writer's strike), but the music couldn't have been any better.
Same here with Season 5, I LOVED those two songs. "Off I Go" was so breathtaking along with all of what was happening. So amazing. I also like the season premiere songs to, especially Jont "When Another Door Closes" and "Black Tables" by Other Lives. Such great music here. I love it!!!
I know right? I mean Shonda seemed like she was covering her tracks. I think it all started with the T.R. and Isaiah buisness. I don't know, that woman has a crazy (but creative) mind.
What do you think about Shonda?
