Season six was a crazy season. Honestly, it might be my favorite. It just had so many interesting storylines and so many shocking moments from start to finish. There were like three or four episodes in total that I didn't like, but otherwise, it did such a great job at keeping me hooked. And the season finale was just intense and heartbreaking. What did everyone else think? Best season? Worst season? High up on your list or not?

we are missing izzie, and alex too, for this reasin shonda would bring izzie again and for the res of the show, karev is nothing without izzie .
seriously, shonda we need izzie, alex needs izzie and for god, THE SHOW NEEDS IZZIE. then pay more much more to katherine h, or bring another actress

I enjoyed going into season 6 because of the major changes i.e. - Izzy/George dieing/fighting to live. I also liked the storyline that Meredith gave her biological father a transplant, however, my least favorite part in the series was when Ellen Pompeo needed maturnity leave so they implemented that whole liver transplant story line just to give her time off. Also to give her an easy time by sitting in bed at home.
The season finale... was... the best finale of the entire series. Season 4 finale was amazing as well but I think MerDer had their biggest challenge in season 6 finale. The finale makes me put season 6 for sure to tie for the top season of the series. I really liked season 5 too. I don't know, maybe season 3/5/6 are tied for me. All I know is, Grey's Anatomy is back! I felt like half of season 6 was just a filler until the last 2-3 episodes when Mr. Clark's storyline started to happen, Derek struggled with chief, Meredith contemplating children.
I'm still in awe over the finale. That finale made my fricking year.

I Thought that Season 6 Was pretty AMAZING!
However I did Miss Izzie. there was just so many unsolved things with her.
The Finale was SOOOO awesome. I wish Mer wouldnt have misscarried:(
This is probably my FAVORITE season if not its in the top two.
I'm going to relie on my dvds to get me too september.

- George O'Malley died
- Izzie and Callie discuss George's organ donation
- Bailey asking where/or whom the patient is who is getting George's organ
- Callie quits when not offered an attending position
- Meredith gives her father a piece of her liver
- Lexie moves in with Mark
- The Merger
- Izzie gets fired
- With the merger staff are fired, Nurse Olivia, Dr Megan Nowland
- April Kepner is fired when she makes a split second mistake, which cost a patient her life
- Izzie comes back with her high school teacher
- Chief Webber has a drinking problem
- Adele accuses Bailey of having an affair with Richard
- Miranda is getting a divorce
- Derek is made Intruim Chief
- Richard Webber goes into rehab
- Arizona and the hospital are given $25 million by one of her patients parents
- Owen brings in a cardio goddess for Cristina
- Mark discovers he's a dad and later to be a grand-dad
- Lexie and Mark break up
- Mark has sex with Addison
- Lexie has a one night stand with Alex
- Callie gets chickpox
- We met Harper Avery, Jackson Avery's grandfather
- Callie wants babies, Arizona doesn't
- Bailey gets a boyfriend
- Mark asks Teddy out
- Mark sleeps with Teddy
- Alex's brother comes to town for surgery and to catch up with Alex
- We see Owen in wartime
- Derek hires April Kepner and Megan Nowland
- Reed and Charles are killed
- Alex, Owen and Derek are wounded
- Meredith finds out she's pregnant
- Meredith losses her baby while operating on Owen
- Cristina operates on Derek while she had a gun pointed at her head
- Richard Webber takes back his hospital and confronts Gary Clark
Can anyone add to this list things, I know I'm pretty much all over the place, I can think of at least 37 things, I challenge you to add more not listed here.

If you break down the whole season there were 24 episodes in total. Episodes 1 to 12 had Katherine Heighl - Izzie in them off and on, the the rest of the season episodes 13 to 24 minus Izzie. And I think more happened in the second half of the season then the first.

I enjoyed S6. I liked it. Izzie is gone, MerDer had an adult relationship, Alex got a little more background, Richard had a decent SL, Bailey got a man!
It's not my favorite but it could be worse (i.e, Izzie palooza).

This season was not my favorite season because of the inconsistencies of the episode quality. There were really fantastic episodes that I have seen and episodes that made me think S4 (which was horrible for me I can't bear to watch the entire season except bits and pieces of it)
Izzie leaving upset me a lot because she was an integral part of the fab 5 from the beginning and it would have given her justice if she had been killed off end of S5 it would have kept a positive ending to A/I but still some hurt and heartbreak for Alex (this is hard for me to say because no matter what she did in the series I <3 Izzie and will not protest if she comes back for ONE episode unless she messes with Alex's heart again or its all about her)
I love the stability of Mer/Der this season and I know there was some limited Mer/Der becasue of EP maternity leave so I understood. This is the season that I got into Mer/Der for real which quite surprises me due to the LACK of Mer/Der in S6
I love Alex so much this was HIS season and he's my new favorite character I mean the journey he went through this season with his marriage to Izzie and the aftermath of Izzie leaving him which ultimately lead to a divorce and then his love of peds and learning about his family. Then the finale which he get shot and unconsiously admitting that he still loves Izzie what a finish. I want to see more Alex S7 along with Mer/Der issues :D

Season 6 was sooooo good, nobody need´s Izzy, we have Meridith and Cristina, but there must be a season 7 (please)
