when he was on the view he said there is going to be a wedding but he didnt say whos but he did say that there is a union between him and meredith. and they already shot the proposal so in one of the next 3 episodes there is going to be a proposal

Maybe they will get engaged,and that is the union. And the wedding of this season will be between other 2 persons,maybe patients or smth. Or maybe Alex and Izzie? Idk.For Owen and Cristina would be too soon.
This way,what he said is actually true.However,I don't care how,but I want a happy ending for Mer and Der this season and in the best case scenario a dream wedding ;x but that would be too 'happy' and 'bright' and that is not like Shonda Rhimes .. so I expect this 'down' to continue a little longer and then a huge 'up' to come :)

When he was on The View, Patrick Dempsey implied (in my opinion) that the union would be something more than the proposal, like that it would be on top of the proposal. But he was very careful about his wording when talking about there being a wedding this season- I don't think it will be a MerDer wedding but I think there will be an engagement and *something* else. Just not sure what that something is!

im a huge fan of merder but lets face it;; she hardly ever confesses her feelings;; even though we all know she loves him and always will.
i also hope something with getting the ring back will happen too cuz when's he gonna propose? elevator love letter? or sweet surrender?

Good question greyslover11! I think it'll be in Elevator Love Letter because 1. They said the best MerDer scenes happen IN THE ELEVATOR 2. I think there's a gap after "Elevator Love Letter"

Yeah I think the proposal will be in next weeks epi not this weeks. I think this week Derek will really realise that Meredith is going to stick by him no matter what and she isn't going anywhere. I hope there will be some really good MerDer scenes this week- that drunken outburst brought out a lot of Derek's insecurities about the relationship and I hope they actually get properly addressed while they are both sober. But I have a feeling this week is going to be a bit of and Izzie fest...which I know I shouldn't be so disappointed about because, you know, she is dying. But...I still want lots of MerDer :)

I agree with you Wordsmith. I think it will be a bit of an Izzie fest - but that saying there has to be a bit of mer/der time becuase its meant to be mer that convinces der to come back to work as in elevator love letter der has his first surgery. I really hope that they show him finding the ring, or going around to the house to apologise.

I don't want it to be mostly izzie like last episode, i was looking forward to merder and we only got two good scenes with them. im glad their finally solving whats wrong with izzie though, and at least cristina knows.
