I'm sure that Meredith DOES love Derek and I don't think that she will give up on him. If she would have given up on him, she would have never went to the trailer when he called her or even answered the phone when he called and asked her to come. Meredith said what needed to be said to get him back to the operating room to save IZZIE!!!
BTW, I posted this before in another forum, but I need to say it. Christina and Burke got engaged in eppy 17 of season 3 and the wedding was planned by the finale (eppy 24). Plenty of time for a MerDer wedding.......

Let me just say that I am a HUGE Mer/Der fan. But the last scene was so disappointing to me. I'm glad that Derek called Meredith and she said she was glad that he called and I know he was wrong in everything he said to her last week, but she didn't act like I thought she would. I mean he was so emotional and he finally said I LOVE YOU and she said I know.???? Why won't Shonda and or the writers let this girl say I Love You?? I don't understand that. I mean I know she was still probably hurt from the things he said but you could tell he was sorry and I thought she would at least give him a hug or something! And I know she was upset about Izzie and I figured she would get Derek to operate on her but, I was just surprised that there was very little emotion from Mer as far as Derek was concerned. That to me could have been such an amazing scene with these two. And then she just walks off and leaves. ??? I was really disappointed. I love Mer/Der and after his darkness the last few episodes I was really looking forward to an amazing scene. It seems to me that there are alot of great scenes that these two miss out on and this was a very good example to me. I don't see why the writers don't notice that.
I did think the episode was great. Just alittle disappointed in the Mer/Der scene after looking so forward to how whe would convince Derek to come back. It was also great to see George back and the whole Izzie storyline was heartbreaking. It was good to also hear Derek say in the promo...its a good day to save lives when Izzie was on the operating table.

I was wondering, I read where GA will have 24 episodes this season and the season finale will be 2 hours. Will the 2 hour finale be ep. 23 and 24 or 24-25?

OMG what a sad episode - I was crying for so long during the episode. At one stage I thought I had it under control, but then it just started up again. It was sad, but so so good.
It was so good to see George after his absence for so long. I loved how mer and george handled the intern situation, and It was so funny to see him telling the interns to not talk when she was yelling at them. It was also great to see the original 5 in so many scenes together - having lunch and then at the end when they were all helping Izzie get settled into the hospital bed.
I felt so sorry for derek this episode, I know he was being a complete and total jerk the past few episodes, but tonight I really felt sorry for him. I'm glad he remembers what he said to mer and how he threw the ring. (why the hell didn't he try and find it though.) It will be so hard for him next week, having to come back and have his first operation performed on Izzie, who he knows and lives with. I'm really glad that mer said to him what she did. She could have said I love you too, but that wouldn't have gotten him to come back. She had to say what she did becuase now Derek is coming back for her, she wouldn't be able to be with someone that could work away from something that he is so good at - and that was what finally got through for derek.
Next week looks so sad though. The preview made me cry.

The end of this ep was sooo sad... it was really sad episode but i think one of the best...

The scene with Richard & Derek in the trailer was AMAZING! Watching Derek fall apart & yell at the Chief was so intense. I loved it. The final scene with Meredith & Derek was fantastic because she didn't coddle him which is the last thing he needs. Telling him that she couldn't risk loving a man who could give up on his gift... sad, heartbreaking & amazing. And so much more that I don't have time to gush about because I have to go to work but the entire episdoe was very intense.
