Ok so I've now listened to the podcast as well, and I'm feeling more convinced that Meredith and Derek will get through this but I do believe that in typical TV fasion we'll have to wait until next season to see it resolve itself. TV loves raitings!!!! I think they've been building us up to a major cliffhanger like at the end of season 2.

Yeah, I think that you are right Trisha. Cliffhangers seem to be the way that TV works today.

I agree about the cliff hanger status and I guess it's kind of good to wonder about it since there arn't any episodes anyway. The whole who will be the next chief thing has existed since the very first episode when Derek arrived and Burke got annoyed when the chief told him he didn't take the extra step or minute needed to make chief anymore. So I'm thinking that this can easily run through, say, 7 seasons and be the 2nd very last episode cliff hanger . That would be in about 3 years time AT LEAST. Now there's a happy thought for people like us.

Yeah, I see this season as the middle of the road for the series. All the characters are on the path to who they will be in the end. It is nice to know that there is stuff behind us and stuff to come. What a great time!

You know when Meredith first meets Derek she runs away (upstairs) and when Bailey directs her to Shepard in the first episode and she realizes who he is she runs away. She is mostly running away from him. But she is aware that she has been neglected and damaged and I agree abou the middle of the road and I think she can change direction and end up in the same place as Derek.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. She asks him not to give up on her in the preview. She seems to be changing direction and moving towards him now. That is a fun place to be in, in the series.

McDreamy02 -- Yes, the spoilers say that there will be a wedding, not a MARRIAGE. If they'd use the word MARRIAGE, I wouldn't be worrying right now. Heck, TWoP and the ABC Message Boards are even talking about Burke walking out of the wedding.

This is the spoiler from ABC about the finale; "05/01 - Cristina and Burke’s wedding day arrives – along with the interns’ first exam results – and a successor to the Chief is named, as Callie and George make a big decision about their relationship." Wow! A new chief is going to be named. I think that it will be....I don't know. I could see Mark being chosen because he has no other commitments, relationship wise, that means he could give himself fully to the job. Or what if the board renames Richard chief; that could solve the problem for a while. I think that Callie and George are going to divorce. It would make no sense for them to stay together if Callie finds out the extent of the feelings that George and Izzie have for each other.

i think we've learned, from past mistakes, to not put too much stock in what the spoilers say. That being said, if it's coming from ABC then it must be true for the most part---the wording can be taken a couple of different ways so i guess we'll just have to wait and see! but if mark is chief i think that's great! plus it gives him a real reason to stay put, otherwise, why is he there especially if addison is leaving? callie and george divorcing is just too easy i think. i mean that's what i would like to happen, but usually they don't have such a tidy solution to big problems. the pregnancy thing is still a strong possibility.

Yeah, but that does not really seem to fit, when it says that they make a big decision about their relationship, I take that to mean their marriage, and whether or not to say together. I really do not see the baby thing. That would be too soap-operaish. Plus, when was the last time that they had relations? Angie, I think that I could be biased because I want George and Izzie together, but I also do not see it fitting into the way Shonda tells stories. Plus, I see Callie as an all or nothing girl. If she realizes that George and Izzie are truly in love, she will want no part of that. I do not think that Callie will be a regular next year.
