I don't think they showed him asking her. Izzie just lets her know that he wants her to be his best man.

I agree with greysanatomyismylife, Ive been saying that ever since Izzie was speculated to cancer... if she does die....there will no way anyone will be able to recover, the show will changed forever. Alex and George will be so different. The show wont be quite as funny as it is now. So I honestly dont think it will happen.

If Izzie dies she'd be the 1st main character to die. Denny died but he was not really a main character. Only Izzie knew him. It'll just bring the show to a whole new level. Not a nice one.

    The episode was perfect!

I'm glad it was Alex & Izzie that got married. I really, really want to see a MerDer wedding but it just wasn't their wedding. It was always Izzie's wedding. Meredith even says that she wasn't excited about the wedding, she was excited for the marriage. Which not only shows how much she has grown up and really foreshadowed, in my opinion, that they were not going to get married. Also I really think Mer/Der are a small wedding couple & I may be alone here but I really want Derek's mom & his sisters to be at their wedding.

George! Cry The moment where he gets up from his pew to help Izzie. I was in tears. It was just the perfect moment.

I loved that Derek gave Mer a solo surgery for their non-wedding gift. It was so sweet & thoughtful.

I loved all the interaction with Mer & the Chief. There were just so many great moments with them in the episode.

Alex & Meredith moment... just incredible. What I haven't realized up until recently is that these two are really good friends. They have an incredible connection that stems from growing up with crappy parents & they understand each other. Then after looking back on past seasons they really do lean on each other. Not quite to the extent of Meredith & Cristina but still in a way that allowed Alex requesting Mer to be the "best man" was amazing.

Alex & Izzie... I just cried through the last scenes. When he pulls the clip out of her hair & when they show her with her head shaved... it was just really beautiful.

And I loved seeing Cristina trying to take down her celing fan! Just another beautiful symbolic moment.

Just an all around great episode. I'm so excited for the season finale next week. I really hope Izzie doesn't die but at this point I'm prepared for anything... I think.

Izzy dieing would be kind of a loss to the show but I think they need some drastic change up to the show.  It was sweet for george to carry her to isle. It was kind of like letting go of the past with them.  And that he has accepted the fact that the time they have together may not be for very long.  There were parts of the show that didn't make sense like the whole car crash thing. I don't know how that played into the show.  But over all a good 100th episode

The car crash was symbolic because they were college students on their way to their graduation & a semi with a blown tire changed all of their lives. It was supposed to be the first day of the rest of their lives which is symbolic of both their graduation & the wedding. Also the one girl that did end up living, her speech inspired Alex's vows. All of the episode mirrored the simple fact that we are not invisible and that we can't keep putting off the start of our lives... we need to start living them now. I thought the car crash victims were a great integration of everything else going on in the episode.

I can see now how the car crash vitims tied in now that you explained that. thanks

I guess you can also say that something so simple like a blown out tire can alter so much.  Similar to Izzies skin cancer. something so simple can alter so much

I think that's exactly the parallel that Shonda Rhimes was trying to draw for us. We have to be open to the fact that even the smallest thing can change our lives forever.

And Izzie's cancer is the perfect example of that. Like her mom said during last week's episode, in her mind, its just a little mole. A mole is killing Izzie & as a viewer we aren't even sure how long its been there. It could have been a mole she never even gave a second thought to because she thought she was healthy. I think it also tells us we need to be familar with our bodies because we need to recognize when something is out of place. A simple mole can change your life forever.

    great review from jessica0115!..Smile

Another great episode from grey's. I was hoping for a MerDer wedding, but I was not disappointed at all. What Izzie had planned for MerDer's wedding was perfectly suited for her and Alex. Shonda really did a great job marking the 100th episode.
