   Didi--thought I'd get this started since we want to abandon that other thread. since you had trouble coming up with some good Derek points, I thought I'd add a few of my own. 1. he is a brilliant brain surgeon. that's right up there with rocket scientist! 2. he treats his interns with respect 3. he fell in love with Meredith at first sight 4. he loves nature and the outdoors 5. he is extremely witty 6. he is a good listener 7. he loves fishing and camping (scores high points from me there) 8. he is laid back enough to laugh when George called him an ass 9. he doesn't act haughty and superior around Mer's friends when they are off work 10. in spite of his struggles to sort out his life, he has never wavered in his love for Meredith 11. had to add--he is exquisite to look at, especially in a tux

   Lol, nice choices rose. Must say I agree with most and the witty bit is right on target. One thing I like about Mcdreamy is his self-deprecating humour - for a guy that goodlooking it's nothing short of a miracle that he's not more egotistical. I truly hope I did not offend when I said I had difficulty coming up with good Der stuff. it's not that I do not like Der, but for me Burke is "the top". Believe it or not it was because of Der I first got into Grey's - I happened to catch an advert for it on TV one day - there was this fantastic looking guy with great hair, sparkling, sexy eyes and a nice body and I was like "Phwoar, who on earth is that guy?" I started watching but eventually got into how Burke and Cristinas relationship developed. I know Burke can seem a little intense and heavy-handed to some but I find those traits extremely appealing - always been fond of the "take charge but still in touch with his caring/emotional side" kind of guy. And he also has the ability to laugh and be silly. Whats also interesting to me is how much work HE had to do to get Cristina to commit a little - usually it is the other way round, again it shows how at ease he is with himself - no macho posturing - at least when it comes to his private life. Back to Der - other good stuff is his favourite tipple - single malt (I think?)and the way he was always fiddling with - what WAS that anyway - his phone, iPod or whatever.

   So glad you started this place to talk, Rose. I can't pull up the last two pages of the BANG forum for some reason, so don't know what anyone is saying. I agree with you on the Derek things that you love. I also agree with Didi about Burke. I like that he is really masculine, not macho, and when he wants something is goes after it. I love that about him. I like Derek, too, but it is Burke that floats my boat. I liked when he told Cristina that any more steps he was walking away, and he meant it. She had to moe a little bit towards him, too. It couldn't always be him taking the steps. Well, I think it was a giant step when she walked into the elevator last night. Hooray for sticking!

   hi ladies...I really enjoy both of your unwavering love for Burke. I guess I am "mature" enough to appreciate both these gorgeous men and enjoy them as much as I want, since I'm not going to get either one of them! I adored Burke being so insistent on Cristina having a relationship with him, it was the first thing that attracted me to him (besides that cleft in his chin). And I too love how masculine Burke is...oh we could just go on and on and that's what this thread is for, haha! I guess I lean more towards Derek because of his emotional and moody nature, because I am a hopeless romantic. My name here is from Titanic Rose so that should tell you something. WE'RE STICKING

   You know guys I'm kind of longing for the old days when Burktina first became an established couple, eating breakfast, lying in bed snuggled up and reading in their cool jimjams, cooking up a storm at Mer's house. There have been so many upheavals lately that while I'm sure they are meant to be, sometimes the emotional rollercoaster gets to me. Speaking of emotional and moody - its not only Der who holds the franchise, Burke can brood for England too. Actually you are right - they are both gorgeous men, Burkes taller though...*big grin*. Guess what I think? I know it looks all peachy in MerDer land but I get the feeling Mer is going to go through some experience and break up with Der. Now before you start pelting me with rotten eggs I'm not trying to be mean but can you honestly see MerDer continuing in this way without the writers throwng a spanner in the works? Seriously? Remember these are the people who cruelly killed off Denny (boy, was I glad though)- I just know something we fans may not like much is cooking in the writers pot. Mer is so NOT the "happy forever" type. Not yet anyway, too damaged. She will sabotage the relationship somehow. Or him. Both too damaged. Not saying that they may not reconcile eventually but I have a gut feeling about this. Thats one of the reasons Greys is so brilliant - they know just which emotional strings to pluck.

   Brianna--of course this thread would not be a good funny posty thing without you and your 3.5 GPA. I knew you were smart and would find us! And yes Derek is seriously HOT, everyone knows that so I didn't think to include it

    Goodnight Didi--I'm going to try hard for 4 weeks not to figure out the future of anyone on GA, as I will just drive myself crazy. But the Mer-Der fans, including myself, would probably have a coronary and need a bypass if they mess with the relationship again anytime soon...
