Are you an actual doctor?
-
Just wondered how many actual doctors love this show and visit this site. So if you are a med student, Doc, or maybe even a Neurosurgeon shout out here and let us know you're out there!!!

3rd year Med student here. 2 more years to go before I graduate from medical school and become a Houseman (the equivalent of Intern in my country).

I'm a mom of 3 kids, so some days it feels like I am working in the pit! Especially now at the beginning of bike/rollerblading/tree climbing/etc season when they seem to fall a lot!
I thought of being a nurse or a pediatric doc, but I can't stand needles and have to look away at a lot of the gross scenes (like face transplant) and really panic when I have to enter a hospital, so probably not the best career path for me...

I wish I could be! My friends are always teasing me about how much I know from watching Greys. I couldn't be a doctor though due to the fact thatI panic very easily in stressful situations, and can't handle actual gory stuff. The fake stuff I can handle! I am actress though so I hope to play a doctor!

My Dad is a CT surgeon and my boyfriend is a pediatrics registrar (he has three years left and then he will be full qualified pediatrician-he will be 32 by the time he finishes so it is about time!)
I, on the other hand, am a law student. My Dad was a single Dad and I am an only child so I did feel some pressure to go into medicine and I seriously considered doing it. I even got accepted into Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at university...but in the end I decided I don't have the stamina to stick out so many years of study and the shift work and everything else. My Dad will have himself a medical son-in-law so he's happy with that and I am perfectly content knowing I can help people through other avenues with my career choice and have a high powered career away from medicine.
