   I honestly dont think anybody could because its his personality and he has the looks!

   Definately not! The chemistry between Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo is incredible, and he is just the definition of McDreamy!

   I agree, definitely not! Patrick Dempsey IS McDreamy. He has the looks and the personality. I don't think there is an actor alive that could portray the character Derek Shepherd better.

   I think that Grey's Anatomy really chose the right actor when scouting out us a Mcdreamy. Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo really look like a couple and have amazing chemistry. I wouldn't be surprised if i heard that they were together (man i wish) because they just fit together perfectly (no offense to either of their spouses).

    

   Patrick has the looks, the eyes, and the smile to pull off Mcdreamy. I'm really happy they picked him, and i think that there are probably other people who could have played him, and who-ever they picked would be great, because they have great ideas for members of their cast, but i'm super happy they picked patrick dempsey, because he sure is a joy to watch every week.. even when he's mad... he's hot! :P

    No no no, Derek is an amazing actor, and inspiring, I truly think if he goes, the show won't be as good, because the relation ship between him and Meredith is flawless and so cute, and if he goes and another person comes it's just going to like... what the HELL.

    Like how Grey's Anatomy put these new people in, and I don't like them!!! I think Grey's Anatomy is Good with Cristina, Izzie, Alex, George[well he's dead but], Richard, Derek, Meredith, Miranda, Callie, Arizona, seriouslyyyy

   Patrick Dempsey is McDreamy - no question about it.  I think that the chemistry between Patrick and Ellen makes the two of them SO believable that nobody else could play those characters.  I read that they initially wanted Rob Lowe for the part, and I just can't see him as being McDreamy.  He's a good actor, but Patrick Dempsey IS McDreamy.

   once actor comes that character there is no going back and if done no one will able to recoize that character. I know this because I saw it done in the saddle club and i could not recoize the characters any more. so i stop watch the show.
