I just started watching grey's anatomy and I'm almost done the first season...but I really don't understand why Ellen Pompeo is the leading actress! She can't act for her life!!! Her facial expressions are ALWAYS the same..I can never tell whether she's angry (which she often is), sad, or frustrated, etc. It's really getting annoying. I guess I just have to keep watching and see.....

It's an ensemble show. No character dominates. Izzy, Addi, Burke, Christina and Miranda, IMO, emerge as the strongest characters. I still find Meredith a very sympathetic character. Helps that I think she's adorable at her best! I just did the warp speed download of this series, watching all 47-odd episodes to date (except the first four of this season) in the past couple of weeks - first two seasons on DVD, then eps 5-8 of this season on ABC's website, then this weeks live. It's fun! And the series is great, IMO. I had no series I regularly watch at this point until Grey's. I'm into it. Hope you enjoy getting caught up with it, too. Best, Chris in CT
