Passing of time in show?

   Hello, friends!

   Could you tell me, how much time passed between 1th and 6th?

   My friend claims, that between 1 episode and internship exam passed 3 years or so... Is it true? It really confuses me, cuz i thought it's much more less.

   Do you have some guides, marks or kinda this. Maybe Shonda told somethin' about it? I am grateful for any links.

   Sorry for my english, i'm german :)
