Here is part of the history of Ellis Grey (courtesy of Wikipedia)
She was married about 30 years ago to Thatcher Grey, who left the family when Meredith was young, partly as a result of Ellis's affair. After her divorce and break-up with Richard, Ellis moved with Meredith to pursue a position at Boston General
So, technically, Liz could have been Ellis's scrub nurse for 18 years. I am guessing Meredith came late into Ellis's career, she and Richard had a long affair I think also. Meredith was about 5 when her dad left, right? So, I suppose it COULD have happened.

I always assumed it was made to seem that Meredith was born during Ellis' residencey. In the pictures the show of Meredith in the wagon & Thatcher, Ellis looks young. I think the point of the whole affair & her sort of resenting having Meredith had to do with being married young & having a child too early.

Ok, what's it been a little over 24 hours and already it is killing me not to check the spoilers. But, it is better to have that anticipation feeling than go crazy with all the rumors that keep flip flopping back and forth saying one thing, then saying the complete opposite.

I love the anticipation! Its such a better feeling that sorting through rumors & trying to decide what's real & what's put out there as bait. Trust me marriedmymcdreamy, it gets easier. I slipped the other day & looked at promo photos. =( I slapped my hand and told myself relapses happen. Now I've moved on & I have de-bookmarked all my normal spoiler haunts. It helps & I know it'll get easier.
