The Dempsey Challenge

   Hey everyone,

   I'm sure you guys have heard about the Dempsey Challenge on here. Its a fundraising experience for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing located in Lewiston, Maine. Comprised of various cycling distances (10, 25, 50 and 100 miles), as well as a 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk, participants are encouraged to raise funds as they prepare for and enjoy The Dempsey Challenge. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing, which provides high-quality education, support and wellness services to patients, survivors and caregivers. More information on Patrick's personal story and commitment, as well as services provided by the Dempsey Center, can be found at www.dempseycenter.orgThis event is held in Lewiston, Maine on October 4th, 2009. I am participating in the 5K run during this event.I am trying to raise $10,000 to donate. Net proceeds from The Dempsey Challenge directly benefit the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing.

   My father was diagnosed with esaphageal cancer last June and underwent chemo, radiation and surgery and is now on his way to remission. I'm hoping by raising this money it will help researchers get closer to finding a cure.

   It would be awesome if you guys could donate anything at all or tell any other friends about it! Thanks!

   Actually, haven't looked at this in a while, but I am doing the 100 mile ride now, I changed it.  .
