hey people. if anyone has still not yet checked out the petition to fire IW, you might want to. I was interested in seeing just how many people were posting at one time..and i hit refresh every two seconds within a 5 min time span and at least three people are signing every 2 seconds. thats eventually gonna add up..and this petition is going straight to abc. so for those people who think this thing is not going to explode with consequences for IW, i would think again.Posted 1/19/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Stopping Discrimination and hate is much more important then some made up TV Character Although I am personally hurt by Washington's comments, I'm almost glad this happend, because it has launched a massive conversation, involving thousands of people. I think the gay community was at a breaking point, and this actors comments just pushed us all over the edge. You know, when Michael Richards in a public show of a well-known comedy club called a black patron the "N" word, not only was he allowed to perform later that evening, but the event was also down played. There was a comment that Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been in the lime light trying to make a big deal out of that, however, that was not the case, was it. Now because a white actor who happens to be homosexual is offended after he comes out of the closet, a man must lose his job. I think not. I believe he has suffered enought scrutiny over the matter. If indeed this actor as was reported called him the "N" word then he is just as wrong and just because we are called the "N" word does not mean the the "BIG GUNS" always come out. Unfortunate, white people have gotten away with a lot over the years, and always down play our feelings in the matter. I'm not saying that as a gay man his feelings should not be considered, but it's funny how "BIG" a deal ones are making out of this, and people are still telling us to get over slavery when in some towns slavery is still going on and we are not even welcome.
