IW made a stupid mistake, but it's a word.He shouldn't be fired because discrimination is something different. Also the word he used wasn't meant to ofeend TR at the GG.

"Now because a white actor who happens to be homosexual is offended after he comes out of the closet, a man must lose his job." actually, T.R. was forced to come out of the closet to the public because of what Washington said about him in October If any of you are discriminated like T.R. has been at your work place, I would hope the jerk would lose their job over it.... This is not a matter that is simply between washington and T.R. anymore, and that is Washington's fault, he has offended an entire community, This was not something that was said behind closed doors, this was broadcasted on international t.v.... and with Greys progessive audience you should not be surprised that we are all outraged

Okay Deona, let's see Michael Richards did show discrimination toward an entire communitiy or have you been living in a cave. He called a black patron, not a co-worker, the "N" word and once again this was down played. Not only did he call him this, but to add insult to injury he stated that 50 years ago you would have been hanging from your feet from a f...ing tree. If this is not discrimination then what is it. So, I guess the black community should NOT be outraged!!!! Besides I saw the interview also, I believe the person you should be angry with is the reporter at the GG who asked if he indeed called T.R. a faggot. Since he reopenned the wound in the first place.

I love this show and the thought of the recent activity with IW is disturbing to me. His words are not acceptable.You would think that someone in such a media driven profession would know better.I know he's been acting for a while but maybe he's never received this much attention from media&does not know how to handle it. I don't want to see him "replaced" but if they can't work thru this ...so be it. IW does not speak for the cast/show so I will watch in support of all of the other wonderful cast members.Why should they suffer in rating bcuz of him? I think he is a very good actor but this will follow and hurt him for a while - that he's done to himself. For those of u wondering about the presence of black leaders --- this response should come from the gay leadership as it has. Believe me, there is a lot of behind the scene mentoring going on from black actors - they are not pleased with his comments and this is viewed like using the "n" word.This great show has done more for diversity then any show I've ever been attached to and would love to see that continued. Maybe an episode dealing with the "gay" issue to educate viewers about the use of words can help the healing process.I wish them all well including IW.
