Will there be a Season 8?

   Hi guys I hav recently started watching this beautiful beautiful show and i m completely truly madly deeply in love with it But there is a fear gripping me I have read articles saying that Patrick's contract with ABC ends at the end of Season 7 so I was wondering if he is quitting the show? Frankly if he quits the show the show itself should wind up I an't imagine the hsow without MvDreamy and more importantly it won't be fair. the hwole story was built around making Meredith and via her making the audiance believe in the possibility of one true love a happyly ever after story and it seemed like a ray of hope in he middle of so much materialism that goes around in the world. It was reinforcing people's belief in the miracle of love and if Patrick leaves somehting goes wrong with MerDer then the very purpose of the show would be defeated. So plz plz tell me that Patrick isn't leaving and there would be a season 8 too with loads of beautiful MerDer moments

   I hope there will be more than 8 seasons, I want to be hopeful and see Grey's Anatomy run longer then ER.

   ER ran for 15 years, let's see Grey's Anatomy run for 16 - 20 years.

   come one people , let's be realistic , i would love to see greys for that long too, but dont forget ellen pompeo is already 40 years old.. and meredith grey should be like 32 or something,... this means that in a 15th season she'll be 48, thats too old... and patrick will be too, but in guys its different i guess.. :/

   If it ran for that long, you have Meredith as an attending surgeon with her own interns to train and you can see her still trying to cope with her problems, maybe have her niece come in as a med student.

   It'll be great. Derek could become a consultant he won't need to be an attending surgeon. That gives him time to be a family man, while Meredith is running the Neuro department. And every now and then they will operate together.

   I'm pretty sure they can make it to a season 8. Ratings are still good and ABC probably isn't in a rush to let this show go. Whether or not they'll make it to season 16, only time can tell. I'd like to see the current doctors become attendings and all that though. See them as independent and fully competent surgeons who are like Bailey would be cool.
