Would you be a patient at Seattle Grace?
-
Given everything we know about the docs and interns at the hospital. And in light of the lowered trauma rating and decline in the teaching hospital rankings, if you had an injury or medical condition, would you want to be a patient at Seattle Grace? If so, who would you want to treat you, and who would you be sure to steer clear of during your medical emergency?

I would definitely want to be a patient at Seattle Grace. Just because the ranking of the hospital has slipped, it in no means lowers the skill lever of the residents or attendings. Yet I would have to steer clear of the interns, sorry George and Lexie.
If I had to choose who I wanted to treat me, well I would have to choose Dr. Meredith Grey of course, she's an amazing doctor, whose considerate and sympathetic of her patients. My other choice would have to be Cristina she's a strong willed doctor. So I'd have to have a Mer/Cris combo.

In real life, i don't know whether I would want to be a patient at SGH. I probably would, in the TV show they have to showcase alot of the bad stuff that happens with patients there, but if you think about all the other attendings that will have to be there, the mortality rate we see among the main doctors can't be that fo the hospital. Then again, this is TV.
Have you ever imagined that you were the actor that got to play one of the patients? That would be nice. Especially if it was recurring role.

I think if you're a patient there, you probably want to steer clear of being an "interesting" case. Better to have a sore throat, or the flu or something. I agree about Meredith having a good bedside manner. In a lot of ways I actually think that a doctor who can communicate is even more important than one who can't no matter how brilliant they are at treatment and diagnosis. (I say that as someone who isn't actually facing a life threatening illness of course.)
For me, Cristina. I don't know why. I just think she has the right mix of passion and dispassion. I don't think I would want surgery at Seattle Grace. For one thing, the plumbing I've heard is...unreliable.

I don't know. I mean, if one of the Dr.'s really liked me they mite cut my LVAD wire...Haha. With all of the things that go wrong there, it makes it not look so hot. On the other hand, some of the Dr's are awesome. I think that if i was to be a patient there I'd want Christina. She knows her stuff and i can dish what she dishes right back to her. I would totally not want Izzie. Don't get me wrong, she's cool but she gets too attached. :P Merideth would be okay, so would be alex and callie. Bailey would be cool too. I would not want any of the interns though. They dont seem to bright. (Actually Lexie is okay.)

Yeah, Bailey would be my second choice after Christina. I'd worry that Meredith would start asking advice about whether she should be with Derek.

I wouldn't mind being patient there. I know that I would be well taken care of. I would actually sear clear of Christina, or Alex. Mainly because I would like to have converstions with people who aren't going to role their eyes or silently judge. Don't get me wrong I love them both, Christina is an awsome Doctor and so is Alex, and Alex is nice to look at.
But I would go with Meredith. Meredith all the way. She's comfortable with her patients and they all seem to like expressing themselves to her, and she reacts well you know? I'd also like Izzie, or George too. Izzie is very understanding and George is considerate. McDreamy isn't to bad to look at either

Well...if we're talking about a question of looks...that's different.

Yes i would be a patient at SGH . I think that even though they carry on and argue, i think each character is medically skilled and compassionate about their job and who wouldnt want to be treated by doctor Dereck sheppard. I have confidence in the medical attention i would receive and probably some laughs along the way.
