It bugs me how people are always dissing Alex. When in reality, people just hate him because he tells the truth. And like meredith said..the truth freakin hurts. Like when he said Denny was a dying, possibly soon to be dead guy. Duh! He had the worst heart ever. Izzie was just riding out the inevtiable. There was no way to avoid it. I mean, how many surgeries did he have? Like five? I know that sounds harsh, but its still true. I love Alex for taking chances and telling the truth. I don't like him for the stupid chances, like giving people syph and cheating, but everyone makes mistakes. I mean, Meredith broke George and sleeps with too many men, Derek neglected to spill it about Addison, Christina got pregnant, George messes up with ladies left and right, and the Cheif cheated and is a workaholic. Yes, every character in GA has flaw that\'s for sure. I think some people have problem with Alex in S1 due to his lack of badside manner and he did act like an ass to the girls. But he changed since when he get to know Izzie and I quote my fav AI moment: Izzie : \'Why are you so afraid to let people know that you\'re a decent human being\' and another she would like it better if he open up not only to her but to others too. Izzie : Hey why do you do that? Alex : What ? Izzie : Act like an ass when everybody but me is around, they hate you enough as it is. Alex : So ? Clueless Izzie she doesn\'t know that for Alex only Iz matter and he dont\' care what her friends thought of him. But he relent, in that episode when he offer to listened to Mere problem with her mom and help George in his case. But I find he\'s still a bit hot headed. To me the way I see it only with Izzie we can honestly see him happy and smile. I hate it that whenever there\'s some happiness in relationship something happen to scr** them up like failed exam/cheating/Denny. I really hope there\'s will be some lasting happiness if not last at least longer than we have seen. But I would really hope it last.Posted 10/1/2006 1:00:00 AM #

For the record I hate Denny because for me there's something not right about guy, he just rub me all in the wrong way especially after he make Izzie fall in love with him then told her he choose heaven if he don't get the heart? and when Izzie stole the heart for him, he said 'Izzie, you doing good?? Was this guy a perfect guy as most of his fan claim? , I don't see it) Ok with that said , I do fine Alex lack of bedside manner with Denny, I don't think he's being honest, he's being jealous because Denny did survied the surgery. From my experience when my mom went thru a major heart bypass, her doctor/surgeon encourage us her children to always be there for her more so on surgery day and to give her hope , make her want to live and not to think of dying. When your family or one you love is there with/for you it kind of make you feel good to be love & living. He said he just a surgeon & would do his very best but it's still up to the patient to want to live so that the body systme would response normally if not amicable during operation. If she went in there thinking she would die then no matter what the surgeons did would be invain, because the body just couldn't respond because on heart surgery they cracked open your chest put you on artifical respiratory and bags and bags of new blood for tranfussion. This good & considerate surgeon (Tommy) came to my mom on the morning of surgery date and told her to be strong. He need my mom to be strong so they (together with the rest of other surgeons) would make this a successful surgery. He put it like they were a team. It went well thank god,supposed to be a 8hrs operation but took 6 hrs instead and she came thru and healed in such a short time.( Burke gave Christina the speech too about giving her patient's hope to live and accept a new heart before surgery in the Chistmas epy where a young afro american boy refuse to accept a donor heart because he don't believe Santa give him that heart but I digress) So when Alex told Denny his chances were 50/50 and he might as well think of dying in the OR I kind of go 'what on earth is he doing' he willing to jeopodize his patient's life because of jealousy. He kind of like Izzie in this he let emotion cloud his judgement while treating a patient (and it's not the first time , the painkiller addict patient whom he refused to give his painkiller because he don't deserved it because the man remind him of his father's addiction and another case he gave wrong presciption causing a patient brain's dead because his mind was clouded with his failed exam problem & I really feel for him there because he felt so guilty). I think Alex is a very soft person deep down...he must have had a rough childhood. Izzy would be the perfect balancing act :) I too was annoyed by the whole Denny/Izzy thing. Izzy got on my nerves during the whole psycho cut the cord scenes!Posted 10/3/2006 1:00:00 AM #

I agree with Kate. Alex is sensitive and keeps up that arrogant front so that no one realizes it. He obviously cares for Izzie. He is always the first one to look out for her. Even when she was furious with him and wouldn't talk to him he asked the others to wake her up so she wouldn't get in trouble. I think they are great together. I wasn't annoyed with the Denny/Izzie thing, but thought it would end just the way it did. I wonder how long it will take for Izzie to realize that Alex is still there and still in love with her.Posted 10/3/2006 1:00:00 AM #
