    NeedMyGreysFix says:

"I justed watched back Izzie and Alex's wedding and noticed the look on Georges face when Izz and Alex were kissing. It made me cry because everyone looked so happy for them but George looked almost hurt, or like he should have been up there with Izz. Maybe I'm reading in it too much idk."

NeedMyGreysFix-- I don't think you are reading too much into it at all--- I thought this b/f I ever saw the season finale.  Of course George still loves her.  Honestly, that love did not go away, IMO.  AND if you want to go back and rewatch S5--- all the little Gizzie moments do show this-- I think that often, Shonda speaks in the small moments and sometimes these moments are overlooked.

    Prime Example:

During the 2 hiatus, when we all groaned b/c we had to go back and watch repeats, here is what they played:

    5.8 These Ties that Bind

    4.13 Piece of my Heart

    5.9 In the Midnight Hour

    5.11 Wish You Were Here

If you go back and watch these you will find that ALL these have small, signficiant Gizzie moments-- usually George noticing Iz acting weird when no one else does and questioning it, asking Mer for help, pointing it out to Alex... George remembering her b-day and making sure Alex is on top of it, and quite interestingly and significantly, reaching back to season 4 to pull the epi where George & Iz have that scene where she is jealous that George is partying w/ the other interns and wants to be invited and he tells her that they don't want to hang out w/ their boss and then he also tells her that when ever he hears something funny, he looks around for her to see if she's laughing, even when she's not there.... and she tells him to go and be happy....  Rewatch all these.  Look at these small Gizzie moments...

It's ALL in the small moments. Smile

I gotta run-- but I also want to respond to TDS's rant too... I'll be back later!

    :) Cindy

OK, TDS-- to respond to you now...

I agree with you 100% that Greys jumps across the realm of reality, so why couldn't they both survive?  It's most certainly not impossible for Greys (I love ALL your examples you sited!) and exactly what I think most fans would want. I will add to it from my Gizzie shipper heart and say that I want them both to live, but if anyone has to die, I want it to be both... not one or the other.  But again, that comes from my Gizzie shipper heart that wouldn't want to see one wandering around Greys Earth and SGH w/o the other-- I couldn't bear it.  I could even bear them both living and Izzie still being married to Alex... that I could bear, but not one living and one dying.

I'm gonna quote you here... you wrote:

"The perfect scenario for me would be a big time jump in the premiere where Izzie and George are on their way to recovery, but I don't think that will happen.  We will open on the cheesy elevator and have yet another purgatory moment where George and Izzie try to convince one another to either go to the other side or to come back to earth."

This jump ahead I idea could work, but I think many fans would feel cheated from it.  But I happen to love the cheesy elevator and would love to see this scenario (the epi beginning in that elevator):

my best hope is that Izzie feels them bringing her back and tells George that they are trying to bring her back and of course, George will tell her to go and live on (b/c he loves her so) and she will do a classic Izzie move where she reaches out and grabs him quickly, yanking him back into the elevator with her saying "I am not going back w/o you, George!" and they both live!!!

Maybe cheesy, but I'd soak up every minute!

Anyhow, I must say all of Shonda's recent statements make the question of do they live or do they die seem even more ambiguous-- I almost wish that she'd just stop talking about it completely, if we won't know until the fall....

Above all, I hope that they both survive... can we find hope in Izzie's words?  Izzie Stevens (epi 3.16 "Drowning on Dry Land"):

"I believe that, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that we will be okay..... I believe we survive, George. I believe that believing we survive... is what makes us survive."

Hang in there, TDS!  And yes, rant some more, if you need to!  I completely understand.  I tell you, if one survive and the other does not, I will be ranting so loud and obnoxiously, it will be painful!!

    Yes everyone sign the petition.

I think it was obvious George still loved Izzie. Not only that, but he was feeling very lonely. The look of pain and loneliness on his face said it all. It broke my heart doubly. I was already broken-hearted by the fact George should have been standing there marrying her, but to see his pain made it worse.

I can't look at George pics or moments without welling up. I don't get why she had to do this. Make him suffer so much instead of just letting him go to the army and be a hero.

Killing him feels like she has something against the character, especially the way she did it.

He didn't even get to say goodbye to anyone.

I wanted more Gizzie moments too, even if it was just friendship ones.

The ones we had was good but not nearly enough.

Gizzie forever. I am still so devastated. George can't die. Everyone keeps saying he will.

    I can't take that.
