It is the Beautiful geek love thread on fanforum, the Gizzie fan thread. I don't post there anymore, as I got too busy, but I am a member on the list and I do read up regularly. They kept that thread alive and well. It is mostly romantic shippers, but they have some friendship shippers on there too. They have about 365 fans. It is great to see. There is also a TR and George appreciation thread that gets pretty active. I really wish Shonda would read here and know how many of us miss the Gizzie friendship. I am both a friendship and romantic Gizzie fan and losing both is just too much for me. I could have dealt with them breaking up if it was to make them closer as friends. The Grey mag said they broke up to save their friendship, can you believe that? if that is the case, why are they acting more distant than they ever have in the entire history of the show? I got the couple was controversial and all although they still have a whole lot of fans, but everyone loves that friendship so what gives with her? What is going on here? Oh me again, but I have an idea. I post on the official site, and while there is not much romantic Gizzie fans there, there are a lot of George fans and Gizzie friendship fans, so how about I start a Gizzie friendship thread there? Maybe Shonda could see it?

Your idea of starting a thread for Gizzie friendship fans on the official site is great!!! I fully support you and will join!!! Is that the ABC site you're talking about?? I never did much looking around there b/c I figured being official and all it was probably tightly censored by the monitors (I love how messages are posted instantly here and on fanforum ;) If we make it about support for George and the Gizzie friendship, I think we could get a great response-- many fans are really wondering where that Gizzie friendship went. What could Shonda be thinking??? What has gone on??? Some fans occassionally post that they think Shonda is punishing TR and keeping him off-screen (b/c she's good friends w/ IW). I have no idea about that, but I guess possible explanation. Just seems crazy to bring on all these new characters and storylines when we were so in love with all the original characters to begin with! I guess I could buy Gizzie breaking up to save the friendship if they actually ever seemed to interact with each other!!!!
Starting that thread sounds great-- just let me know where to find it and I'm there rallying!!! We can rally on here to gather George and Gizzie friendship fans to post there too. You gotta think that Shonda reads or has someone read fan comments as feedback-- she certainly seemed to when the Gizzie haters were posting relentlessly.

I started it on the official ABC thread. It's called Gizzie FRIENDSHIP thread. I am missrainbow there.
I am confused about Shonda. She dropped Gizzie real fast when the haters were on them and ignored all their fans, even though it was about half of the fanbase. Well Mexie is getting an awful lot of hate and don't seem to have that many fans yet she is still continuing right on with them and ignoring the haters.
I don't quite get the doubkle treatment there, and it makes me kind of mad.
Did she stop reading?
Even a George hater said the George fans have been so vocal, he doesn't get how Shonda can not realize how many of us are angry right now. Is she purposefully ignoring us? Weird!

So weird. How cool that even a George hater acknowledged that Shonda should take a listen. And as far as haters, go, I agree with you--- there seems to be a TON of Mexie haters! I'm not one, but I honestly am still on the fence about them. They did have some cute moments a while back. And I loved what Mrs. Shephard had to say to Mark. Mrs. Shephard is awesome. I loved her hardcore bluntness :) But I am still on the fence about them. But if Shonda gives in to fan pressure that easily, then you'd think she'd be backing down on Mexie, right? So, maybe fan pressure wasn't the reason she wrote Gizzie the way she did. I wish she'd change it. Let George and Izzie be friends again. Give George some screen time and a good story. He's so wonderful. If she doens't I would say she's going to have to address it to the fans. B/c now it doesn't even make sense to some of the haters! That's when you know what she's doing is REALLY off her rocker!!!

It almost feels like she cancelled out Lexie and George trying for a relationship just so she could really cut him out of the script. Not because Mark and her really had chemistry..

McDreamyFace-- that is very strange about the George and Lexie thing, because it seemed that's where she was going. I know some fans wanted to see them together, but I really didn't. I actually like Lexie in her own right. And you guys know I love George, but I didn't think they were much together. I don't think Lexie would challenge him as a person. Especially the way she was crushing on him-- like she'd do anything he wanted for him-- jump off a bridge if he'd ask (not that George ever would!). I don't think they would have made a good relationship.
But it is weird how it seemed that Shonda was going there full force and then abruptly stopped. idk, maybe the theories that she's trying to punish TR are true. I guess it seems to fit, given all the circumstances...

Just chiming in to offer my support! I am actually an Alex/Izzie fan (well, more of just an Alex fan these days - don't throw tomatoes please :), but I really miss the interaction of George and Izzie and George with everybody. He and Meredith had a pretty good friendship and he made a great foil for Cristina and Alex.
I really think that there could have been a way to incorporate George into a bunch of scenes this season, especially where Izzie is concerned. I think that normally George would have tried to talk Izzie out of getting back with Alex or at least talked to Alex about not hurting Izzie again. I would have loved to watched that! Their dynamic is just so interesting, I think.
I really, really hope that we get some scenes with him and Izzie and all the Fab 5 during Izzie's sickness. It is the main thing that I am looking forward to, other than Alex breaking down and crying again :)
Greysaddiction - I think that you are right that something else is going on. His absence is more than just a character taking a backseat while other characters get a storyline. He has practically been invisible.

I think Shonda does read everything, but she's just ignoring us. Maybe she's sick of George or something? Or maybe she's sick of T.R. (honestly, I don't know how someone could be sick of him. He seems like a sweetie, and Justin Chambers and the rest of the cast have said that he's a joy to work with).
Bleh...I'm probably wrong. More than likely I am most definitely wrong. But it's a theory.
