I think that this was one of the best episodes of the season, even though it was really sad. I loved it as an A/I fan and I loved it as a Gizzie friendship fan, but I am going to be a basket case when everyone finds out. I'm glad that after such a crappy season for George that he is going to be "allowed" to be there for Izzie. I liked how George is the one who is so perceptive about something being wrong with Izzie. But I hope he doesn't give Alex grief about not pressing Izzie to tell him whats wrong, although as jerky as Alex can be to George, I wouldn't blame him if he did, but Alex will beat himself up about it enough.
The one thing I didn't like was the re-con about George giving Izzie some space. I don't think he would do that and I don't think that Izzie would want him to do that. Alex may not love the fact that Izzie and George slept together, but I don't think that he would try to stop them from being friends, other than a snarky remark here or there. Plus, even if Alex gave Izzie a hard time about it, she would just roll her eyes and ignore him. I think it was just an excuse for why TR hasn't been getting any screentime. I'm just glad that he was in the preview.
Finally, I have a feeling that if Cristina goes to one of their friends about Izzie it is going to be George. Alex will probably be the last to find out.

greysaddiction - I'm not sure if it's old news or not. I've just been hearing it lately on the boards here and I don't get why people think that. He's not going to die, and I really don't think Izzie is going to die either. I bet the Shepherd Method will be used on her and it'll be a success, thus having Derek wanting to return to the O.R. to be Dr. McDreamy Shepherd again and will save more lives. There's gotta be a happy ending somewhere, and Izzie dying really truly isn't one. And Derek stalking around the woods isn't one either.
I'm hoping George will be the next to find out. He's her best friend and he should know that his friend is sick, although it IS understandable why Izzie didn't tell him. He'd be worried and upset and she doesn't want that. If Cristina doesn't tell George, he'll still find out. He's not stupid.
...know what would be insanely cute/funny? If George wore that Private 'I' costume T.R. wore on Sesame Street and started investigating everything. It'd be SO out of character, but it'd be hilarious :-P Oh dear, I could so use that in a fan fiction...

TDS-- I've heard many fans say the same-- that George's simple explanation about staying away b/c she's with Alex is just way too weak-- too insufficient, given the chasm b/t George and Izzie this season. It's mostly b/c we feel cheated. We feel cheated of George time. We feel cheated of Gizzie time. We were cheated. For whatever reason it was-- we were. But I've thought about his "oversimplified" explanation and thought about George & Izzie. George was just so lost. After he and Izzie broke up, professionally he had to deal with starting his intern year over again-- that was like straddling two different worlds and not being able to swing a leg over to one side-- he didn't really fit with the baby interns, yet he wasn't able to fit with the rest of the fab 5 either. But he also needed to emotionally deal with what happened with his marriage. Even though it obviously wasn't meant to be, he needed to deal with the fall-out emotionally. George is a great, stand up guy, so he had to deal with feeling like a total failure and feeling just morally in the wrong. Now, of the two, George can be reserved. Don't get me wrong, I believe he loves his friend Izzie to the END OF THE EARTH, but he can hold himself back. Now Izzie (as another fan had previously very eloquently pointed out to me) has always had boundary issues when it came to George-- I just don't think she could hold back. But something seemed to make her after their break up. That repeat they showed 2 weeks ago Piece of My Heart pretty much showed us her moment of holding back (new for Izzie), but I think she did it b/c she saw that he really needed her to and she needed to trust that he loves her, his best friend Izzie, no matter what and just sort of let him go.
So, was it an oversimplification? Maybe, maybe not. Does it matter between George and Izzie and how they feel about each other as best friends? Apparently not-- last week's epi proved they are still very much our old and beloved George & Izzie. Does it leave us feeling cheated b/c of how simple it claims to be and how greatly we have suffered in our lack of George and Izzie all season? Yes.
BUT I am just gonna take what I can get-- and if I can get anymroe Gizzie time, I'll take it!!!
As for George jumping on Alex... I don't think he will. He may want to, but he's gonna be way too focused on Izzie and helping her and he's gonna realize that being at war with Alex is not gonna help her at all.
drcookchick-- right now I think you are right-- George is the next to find out-- I think he's gonna get impatient and demand to know from Cristina-- he already knows something's wrong and then he's gonna see Cristina and Izzie doing something together, which will not make any sense to him, (really to anyone who would notice!) and he'll demand to know. Thanks on theicon-- I got it on fan forum. There's so much good Gizzie stuff there! Come join
